Born on August 18, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was known for her versatility in film and theater. Winters won two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress, for 'The Diary of a Young Girl' (1952) and 'A Star Is Born' (1954), and was nominated for three additional Oscars. She passed away on January 14, 2006. more
