Barbara (born Monique Andrée Serf) was a legendary French singer and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in French chanson. Born on June 9, 1930 in Paris, she became famous for her melancholic voice and poetic lyrics. Her notable songs include "L'Aigle Noir" (The Black Eagle), "Nantes", and "Ma Plus Belle Histoire d'Amour." Throughout her four-decade career, she released numerous albums and performed in prestigious venues across France and internationally.
