Aleksandr Karelin, born in September 1967, is a renowned Olympic weightlifter from Russia. He won gold medals in the three weight classes at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and repeated the feat at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, becoming one of the greatest weightlifters in Olympic history.
