Bartholomew Roberts, born on May 17, 1682, was a notorious pirate operating in the early 18th century Caribbean. Known for his ruthless and plundering activities, Roberts rose to become the pirate king, commanding a fleet of ships and thousands of pirates. He was killed in a sea battle off the coast of Jamaica on February 10, 1722.
