Cole Hamels is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, and New York Mets. Born on December 27, 1983, Hamels was drafted by the Phillies in the first round of the 2002 MLB Draft and spent the majority of his career with the team. He was known for his left-handed pitching and his ability to throw a variety of pitches with great control. Hamels won two World Series titles with the Phillies and was also a three-time All-Star.
