George Tillman Jr. (born January 26, 1969) is an American film producer, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for directing and producing films such as Barbershop, Men of Honor, and Soul Food. Tillman's work often focuses on African American stories, highlighting family, community, and perseverance. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in film and began his career in independent cinema. In 2005, he founded State Street Pictures, a production company dedicated to multicultural storytelling. His films have received multiple award nominations, including Oscars and Golden Globes. Tillman is recognized as a key figure in promoting diversity in Hollywood.
