Norma McCorvey, born on September 22, 1947, and died on February 18, 2017, was an American woman known for her role as the plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court abortion case, Roe v. Wade, in 1973, which established a constitutional right to abortion for women in the United States.
