Paul Carus (July 18, 1852 - February 11, 1919) was a German-born philosopher, author, and publisher who became renowned for his studies in Eastern philosophy and religion during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a significant figure in the dissemination of Eastern thought in the Western world.
