Roy Jenkins (November 11, 1920 – January 5, 2003) was a prominent British politician, historian, and writer. A key figure in the Labour Party and co-founder of the Social Democratic Party, he served as Home Secretary, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and President of the European Commission.
