Ted Kotcheff (born April 7, 1931) is a Canadian-American film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his prolific career in film and television. He directed classic films such as 'First Blood' (1982), which launched the Rambo franchise, and 'Saturday Night Fever' sequel 'Stayin' Alive' (1983). Kotcheff began his career at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation before moving to the UK and later the US.
