Robert Hood (born 1965) is an American electronic music producer, DJ, and record label founder from Detroit, widely recognized as a pioneer of minimal techno. As a key figure in the second wave of Detroit techno, he was an early member of the legendary collective Underground Resistance before launching his solo career in the early 1990s. In 1994, he founded his own label M-Plant and released the seminal album 'Minimal Nation,' which is considered the foundational work of minimal techno. Hood's music is characterized by stripped-down rhythms, deep atmospheres, and a soulful groove, blending funk, jazz, and Detroit's industrial aesthetics.
