He is best known for his lead role as Ed Stevens in the NBC comedy-drama series Ed (2000–2004) and for portraying Dr. Harrison Wells and his various Earth counterparts in The CW superhero series The Flash (2014–2023). Cavanagh's career spans television, film, and theater, with a reputation for blending humor and emotional depth. He has also directed multiple episodes of television.
