Sharon Gless (born May 31, 1943) is an acclaimed American actress best known for her role as Detective Christine Cagney in the television series "Cagney & Lacey" (1981-1988). Born in Los Angeles to actor Neil Gless, she began her career in the 1970s. Gless received two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in "Cagney & Lacey."
