Walt Kelly was an American animator and cartoonist best known for creating the iconic comic strip "Pogo." Born on August 25, 1913, he worked at Disney during its golden age, contributing to classic films like "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Fantasia." In 1948, he launched the "Pogo" comic strip featuring a possum character, which became renowned for its sharp political satire and social commentary. Kelly won the prestigious Reuben Award in 1951.
