Terry Fox, born on July 28, 1958, and passed away on June 28, 1981, was a renowned Canadian long-distance runner. In 1980, he initiated and completed the 'Marathon of Hope' charity run to raise funds for cancer research. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 17, Fox embarked on this journey to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Despite his own battle with the disease, he overcame immense physical pain, but was forced to end the run due to his deteriorating health. more
