Carrie Nation was an American temperance reformer and barroom buster known for her aggressive approach to advocating for the prohibition of alcohol. Born on November 25, 1846, in Kentucky, she was a leading figure in the temperance movement during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Nation is famous for her role in the Anti-Saloon League and her personal campaign against alcohol, which involved destroying bars and taverns with an axe. She passed away on June 9, 1911. more
