Tara Lipinski (born June 10, 1982) is an American former figure skater best known for winning the gold medal in women's singles at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. At the age of 15 years and 255 days, she became the youngest individual gold medalist in Winter Olympics history, a record that still stands. Lipinski also won the 1997 World Figure Skating Championships and the 1997 and 1998 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. She was renowned for her technical prowess, including difficult jumps and energetic performances. After retiring from competitive skating in 1998, she transitioned into a successful career as a sports commentator and actress, often partnering with Johnny Weir for NBC's figure skating coverage.
