“Commitments present themselves in delineations of black and white. You either honor your commitments or you don't. Success is the result of making and keeping commitments to your self and others, while all failed or unfinished goals, projects and relationships are the direct result of broken commitments. It's that simple, that profound, and that important.” ImportantSelfGoalBlackSimpleWhiteResultsBrokenHonorProjectsCommitmentDirectProfoundBlack And WhiteUnfinished Author:Gary Ryan
“In 1982 I bought the newly released Makina Plaubel 55mm fixed-lens camera. With this shift from 35mm to 6 x 7, I also changed from black and white to color. Later that year, I started my project on New Brighton called The Last Resort. However, the first project I shot in colour was composed of urban scenes from Liverpool. This image was on the second roll of film. It's the first good photo I made in this new chapter of my work.” YearsFirstsMadeLastsFilmBlackWhiteChangedColorSceneProjectsShotsCamerasFixedColourChaptersBlack And WhiteUrbanLensesResortsLiverpoolBrightonGood Photo Author:Martin Parr
“In order for me to engage in a revolutionary struggle for collective Black self-determination, I have to engage feminism because that becomes the vehicle by which I project myself as a female into the heart of the struggle, but the heart of the struggle does not begin with feminism. It begins with an understanding of domination and with a critique of domination in all its forms.” HeartDoeSelfFormOrderUnderstandingBlackStruggleFeminismProjectsFemaleDeterminationRevolutionaryCollectivesSelf DeterminationVehicleDominationCritique Author:Bell Hooks
