Small Town Romance Quotes

“She should have taken a moment to do this little thing. Why had it skipped her mind? With that small question, an answer crept to attention. “You were unpacking and putting your kitchen together. You were making dinner. For your husband. You were fixing your hair and putting on makeup to please him when he came home. Then, you were distracted and went to set the table for dinner…”

“He paused and turned beside a column on the porch, one hand propped against it. He stared, absorbing me like osmosis, soaking in my molecules through the air. Determination decorated every line of his face. My skin tingled, goosebumps spreading up my bare arms, dancing behind my neck. The kind of goosebumps you get right before a thunderstorm. Or something equally electrifying. “I’ll see you on Thursday.” His voice had lost the heaviness yet was no less forceful. No less intense. “Be ready for me.”

“I don’t know what to do about you,” he confessed, looking down at her as if she was the most inexplicable puzzle. “One moment I want to set you on a pedestal under a glass case to protect you forever, and the next second I want to absolutely, positively ravish you. All the while knowing I can’t have you.”

“I've been thinking about this all day," he said between kisses. "All. Day." Who was she kidding? She'd been harboring this fantasy for weeks. And then in a move that was becoming her 'thing', Alesha leaned back and pulled her sweater over her head and gave Reece a sexy smile. "Was this part of what you were thinking?" His hands came up and cupped her breasts, his breath ragged, but his eyes were on hers. "This is better.”

“Alesha walked up to him and looped her arms around his shoulders as she went up on her tiptoes and kissed him. She only meant for it to be a quick kiss but Reece's arms instantly banded around her as he took it deeper. She was readily on board. The man certainly knew how to kiss and she wasn't going to ask him to stop!... She squirmed for a moment and then reluctantly lifted her head. "Wow." He chuckled. "I kind of like that I keep getting that response from you." "I'm normally much more prolific with words but whenever you kiss me, I can't seem to remember any." His smile deepened. "Now I definitely like that.”

“I must have a screw loose," she muttered under her breath. Satisfied the counter was clean, she squatted down and put the cleaning supplies away in the cabinet beneath the register. "Yup. There's definitely something wrong with me." "Are you looking for confirmation on that?" Jordan's heart hitched in her chest as Gavin's familiar baritone filled the shop. "Or am I supposed to argue with you?”

“Did you need Jordan for something, Cookie?" Gavin asked with thinly veiled impatience. Hands back in his pockets, he took a step away from Jordan. "Or do you merely excel at crappy timing?" "Sorry, Chief." Cookie's short purple-and-blue hair stuck out in a hundred different directions, and she winked when she peeked out from behind the swinging door.... "It's a gift." "That's not what I would call it," he grumbled.”

“I've fantasized about kissing this mouth so often," he whispered, voice low and husky, his thumb brushing across my lips now. "You just have no idea what torture is." Immobilized by the soft touch of his fingers cupping my jaw and the gentle, promising sweep of his thumb, I managed to say, "Sometimes it's better just to make your fantasies a reality. The only way to alleviate that torture.”
