American historian known for her work in the fields of gender history and early American history. Born on July 11, 1938, Ulrich graduated from Harvard University and earned a Ph.D. from Yale University. Her book 'Good Wives: Image and Reality in the Lives of Women in Northern New England, 1630-1830' won the Pulitzer Prize in 1982.
