Lillian Wald was an American nurse, social reformer, and public health advocate. Born on March 10, 1867, she dedicated her life to improving the health and living conditions of the poor and immigrant populations in New York City. She is best known for her work with the Henry Street Settlement, where she founded the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the first organized visiting nurse service in the United States.
