Philip Selznick (January 8, 1919 - June 12, 2010) was an eminent American sociologist and organizational theorist. He served as a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he became one of the most influential figures in organizational sociology. His seminal work "Leadership in Administration" is considered a classic in management studies, and his concept of cooptation remains fundamental to organizational theory.
