Sun Yat-sen was a great revolutionary and statesman in modern China, the founder of the Republic of China and the Kuomintang, and the proponent of the Three Principles of the People. He founded the Tongmenghui and the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance, led the Xinhai Revolution, overthrew the 2,000-year-old feudal empire, and opened a new era of democratic republic in China.
