Born in Graz, Austria, he studied film and media studies at the University of Vienna. Glawogger's work often focused on globalization, poverty, labor, and human existence, blending poetic and documentary styles. His notable works include the 'Working Man's Trilogy' ('Megacities', 'Workingman's Death', 'Globalization') and 'Whore's Glory'.
