Stan Mikita (May 20, 1940 – August 8, 2018) was a Canadian professional ice hockey center who played his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Chicago Black Hawks. Known for his scoring prowess, innovative use of the curved hockey stick, and tenacious style, he was the first European-born player to win the Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP) and the Art Ross Trophy (scoring leader). Mikita helped the Black Hawks win the Stanley Cup in 1961 and was a multiple NHL All-Star. He amassed 1,467 career points, ranking among the league's all-time leaders at retirement.
