“হয়তো আমার ভেতরে কোথাও এক সেকেলে সত্তা বাস করে। প্রযুক্তিকে মনে হয় প্রাণহীন। যতটুকু ব্যবহার না করলেই নয় ততটুকুই শুধু করি। বই পড়ার সময়টুকু আমার একান্ত নিজের। বইয়ের সাদা কালো অক্ষর, কাগজের পাতা, মোটা কিংবা পাতলা মলাটে খোদাই করা শিরোনাম আমার হাত দিয়ে স্পর্শ করতে, অনুভব করতে ভালো লাগে। ভালো লাগে বইয়ের পুরানো কিংবা নতুন ঘ্রাণ। মনে হয় আমি নিজেকে খুঁজে পাই সেই ঘ্রাণে। খুব বেশি হলে আমি কোনো পোর্টেবল রিডিং লাইট কিনতে পারি অন্ধকারে বই পড়ার জন্য, কিন্তু সেটুকু বাদে আর কোনো যন্ত্রের কাছে নিজেকে বাঁধতে চাই না।”
