Christopher Pearse Cranch was an American writer known for his poetry and prose. Born on March 8, 1813, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he spent much of his life in the United States, with a brief period in England. Cranch's work often reflected his abolitionist views and his interest in nature and the supernatural. He died on January 20, 1892.
