Wu Bangguo, born on July 12, 1941 in Feidong County, Anhui Province, is a prominent Chinese political leader. He served as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress from 2003 to 2013 and was a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China. During his tenure, he played a significant role in China's legislative development and legal system construction. Wu also contributed to Shanghai's reform and opening-up, particularly in the development of Pudong New Area.
