Abdul Sattar Abu Risha was a prominent political leader in the Anbar province of Iraq. Born in 1972, he played a significant role in the Sunni insurgency against the occupying forces and the Shia-dominated government. Abu Risha was known for his efforts to unite the tribes against the common enemy and his role in the Awakening movement. He was assassinated on September 13, 2007, at the age of 35. more
