Robert Stone (August 21, 1937 – January 10, 2015) was an acclaimed American novelist, journalist, and screenwriter. Known for his sharp social insight and unique narrative style, his works often explore themes of war, madness, and faith. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Stone had a difficult childhood and served in the U.S. Navy. His masterpiece Dog Soldiers won the National Book Award in 1974. Other notable works include A Flag for Sunrise and Damascus Gate.
