Et lorsqu'en 1983, il s'agit de créer un lycée pilote destiné à recruter les meilleurs élèves du pays, ce fut l'ancien lycée Carnot, abandonné par la France, qui fut choisi, et rebaptisé lycée Bourguiba.”
