Muammar al-Gaddafi, born on June 7, 1942, was the former Prime Minister of Libya. He led a military coup in 1969, overthrowing King Idris and becoming the highest leader of Libya. During his rule, Gaddafi implemented a series of social and economic reforms, but also faced criticism from the international community. In 2011, amid the Libyan civil war, Gaddafi was overthrown and subsequently killed on October 20. more
