“There is an obvious contradiction here. If one agency [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] of the U.S. government believes that Mexican nationals crossing over the border to sell plasma amounts to day labor, why then are millions of others who sell their plasma within the Unites States considered donors, not workers? The industry has more than tripled in its physical presence since 2005, all while insisting the payments for plasma are token of appreciation for people's time, not their labor. The federal government has not intervene in this arrangement anywhere but at the Mexico border.”
