Marek Edelman was a Polish political activist and a prominent figure in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Born on January 1, 1922, and passing away on October 2, 2009, Edelman was a member of the Jewish Combat Organization and played a significant role in the uprising. Following the war, he was involved in the Polish resistance movement and later became a leader in the Solidarity trade union. His life was characterized by his commitment to social justice and human rights. more
