Robert P. T. Coffin (March 18, 1892 – January 20, 1955) was an American poet, novelist, biographer, and educator. Born in Maine, he is best known for his works depicting rural New England life and maritime themes. His poetry and novels often incorporate natural imagery and local color. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1936 for his collection 'Strange Holiness'. Coffin taught at Bowdoin College for many years and significantly contributed to American regional literature. more
