Tyrone Willingham (born December 30, 1953) is a former American college football player and coach. He is best known as the head coach at Stanford University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Washington. Willingham made history as the first African American head coach in Notre Dame football history. He led Stanford to a Rose Bowl victory in 1999 and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
