Famous Swami Dhyan Giten Quotes

“My path in life in life has always been to trust myself; my path in life has always been to trust my intuition, to trust my heart, to trust the inner true voice, to trust my inner source of love, truth and wisdom, which is already in contact with the Whole. I have always listened to other people, and to what situations in life can teach me, but then I have always listened to the silent whisperings of my heart. There is always a meaning with whatever happens. It is basically a question of perspective; it is a question of seeing a situation from the perspective of the limited personality, or to see a situation from the perspective of the unlimited inner being, from the perspective of the soul. It is a question of seeing the creative potential in every situation, to see what we can learn in every situation, and to be open to see how life will solve this situation. When we see the situation from the perspective of the soul, it is like watching the situation from the summit of the mountain, instead of seeing the situation from the perspective of the personality, to see the situation from the foot of the mountain. When we see the situation from the perspective of the soul, we can also see that both good and bad situations, both positive and negative experiences, are teachers in life to learn to create a greater understanding of the Whole.”

“Society destroys the very roots of trust. Society does not allow you to trust yourself. It teaches you all other kinds of trust: trust in the parents, trust in the teachers, trust in the church, trust in God, but the basic trust in yourself is destroyed. The man who trusts himself is dangerous to society, because a society depends on slavery. A man who trusts himself is an independent man. Freedom will be his life. His love will have a truth to it. The society needs dependent people, who do not trust themselves.”

“In this world, there is only one happiness and that is to be yourself. And because nobody is himself, everybody is trying somehow to hide, with masks, with pretensions and with hypocrisy.  They are being taught everything in the education system, but they are not taught to be themselves. This is what makes everybody miserable. To be what you do not want to be, to do something that you do not want to do. These things are the basis of all misery. Sooner or later, you have to decide. You have to say: Whatever the cost, I want to be myself. Condemned, ridiculed, losing respectability, everything is ok, but I cannot pretend anymore to be somebody else. This decision and declaration of freedom, freedom from the weight of the crowd of people, gives back your natural being. Then you can simply be yourself just as you are.”

“Meditation means to learn to surrender to existence. Ordinarily we are fighting and struggling with existence, because that is how we have been brought up. We have been brought up with the idea of fighting and being aggressive, because it is the way to compete and succeed in the world. Meditation means that we are not concerned with success. We are concerned with silence, joy, peace, truth, compassion, freedom and God. Even if you succeed, death is going to destroy anything, so it has just been a wastage of our life. You may have power, status, money, position and prestige, but it will all be taken away by death. But if you have known love, it will go with you. If you have known joy, it will go with you. If you have known the truth, it will go with you. If you have known freedom, death cannot take it away. These are the real treasures of life. But they can only be attained if one surrender to the whole. You have to love so totally, so that you can trust the whole. You have to love so deeply, so that you can surrender to the whole. You have to disappear as a separate entity. You have to become part of infinity and become a wave in the ocean of God.”

“Meditation brings all that is valuable in life.  Meditation brings love, silence, joy, truth and freedom. It makes your being full of songs. Meditation makes the meditator take life playfully. If you succeed in life, good. If you fail in life, good. One remains undisturbed in love and aloneness, in sadness and and joy, in success andfailure and in life and death. Life comes and goes and the meditator remains unaffected. Even death is just a drama. Just as the meditator enjoys life, he also enjoys death. Meditation is the greatest miracle there is. It is the greatest gift than God has given to humanity.”

“Truth is only one. Truth is neither mine nor yours. Truth does has not belong to anybody. Truth does not belong to any religion, to any ideology, to any church, to any country or to any time. Truth is eternal. Truth is the very centre of the whole existence. It is also our being, our life centre, and everyone's being. We are different on the surface, on the circumference, but we are joined at the centre. As we start moving  towards our innermost being, towards our center, we start moving towards oneness of being. On our journey towards oneness of being, first our personality is lost. The personality is a very peripheral thing, a very cultivated and conditioned. It is something imposed from theoutside. And when the personality  disappears, individuality appears. Individuality remains for the whole journey between the surface and the inner being, the centre. Then when you enter the centre even individuality disappears, and you become universal. It is to attain the ultimate truth. A man who has reached to truth lives only to liberate people. His whole life is nothing but a sharing of his joy. He has nothing else to live for. All his desires and ambitions have disappeared. He has no motivation of his own. As long as he lives he lives and breathes for all. He lives for all. He has reached the ultimate height of love, silence, truth and freedom. He has inherited the whole existence. This is possible for those who really want to know the ultimate truth. It is possible for anyone, who are ready to go on a journey to risk his personality, to attain individuality, and then to risk even individuality to attain universality.”

“If one never learns the art of living, you can't have silence, love, joy, truth, freedom, beauty and grace in life. It all depends on how you live. It all depends on how you approach life. One comes into life with a great potential, but very few people develop that potential. The potential remains unused. The seeker of truth have to become committed, dynamic and always move into the unknown. He needs to be always reaching for the stars. And then life becomes filled with joy and fragrance. It is that fragrance that has been called, God, nirvana, and enlightenment. It is life that blossoms.”

“Religion is a paradox; you have to become nothing to become all. You have to become nobody to become a god. You have to prepare for nothingness, and then the whole descends in you. Jesus says that the meek, the humble and the egoless belong to the kingdom of God. So the person who is not is the greatest, and the person who thinks that he is the greatest is just an idiot. People like Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Ghingis Khan, George W. Bush are basically stupid. Their whole desire is psychopathy, narcissism and megalomania. They create much suffering for themselves and other people. They go on stuffing their ego like a balloon, and then one day it bursts. Every day the ego goes on becoming bigger and bigger, and a moment comes when the puncture of the balloon happens, and everything goes flat. The ego is the roots cause of it, it is bound to create hell for yourself and for other people. Egolessness is paradise. The moment that you are meek, humble and egoless, you will enter into the kingdom of God. Then the last should be first. To be egoless is to be in the kingdom of God. But everybody is trying to be the greatest. And the whole project is doomed from the beginning, because it cannot succeed. It has never succeeded, because it is against existence. It is trying to work against existence. Ego means that you are trying to win against the whole, which is not possible. The part can never win over the whole. No-ego means that you dissolve with the whole. Then suddenly life becomes a totally new  phenomenon. Then life has tremendous  love, silence, joy, truth, freedom and beauty.”

“True love grows out of silence. True love grows out the experienceof egolessness. Otherwise love remains superficial. Unless you know that you are not the ego, you cannot really love, because the ego will disturb love. The ego will poison love into jealousy, domination, anger and possessiveness.  They are all symptoms of the ego. They are not part of love. The only way to drop jealousy, possessiveness and domination is to drop the ego. Dropping the ego means to become  egoless, to become nobody, to become a nothingness. When there is no ego when you are not, there is silence. In thatsilence, the flower of love starts growing. The flower of love has the fragrance of the divine. Then love does not create anybondage for you. Then love brings joy, truth and freedom. Then love delivers you from misery, anguish, anxiety and loneliness. Then love makes you what life intended you to be.Then one has come home.”

“The truth is one. Truth is neither mine nor yours. Truth does not belong to anybody. Truth does not belong to any religion, to any ideology, to any country or to any time. Truth is within. Truth is eternal. Truth is the centre of the whole existence. Truth is always in our centre and everyone's centre. We are different on the circumference of our consciousness, but we are all joined at the centre of our consciousness. When we start moving toward our centre, first the personality is lost. The personality is a cultivated and conditioned thing. When the personality disappears, individuality appears. Individuality means that we are in contact with our inner being, our authentic self. When you go deeper into the center even the individuality disappears, and you become universal. The man who has attained to truth lives only to liberate people. His whole life is nothing but a sharing of his joy and freedom. As long as he lives he lives for all. He has reached the ultimate height of joy, silence, truth, freedom and godliness. He has inherited the whole existence.”

“Meditation is the only way to know your being, which is already perfect. The inner being needs no perfection. It is already overflowing with joy, silence, love, truth, freedom and peace. Meditation makes you aware of that which is already perfect within yourself. It is a way of awakening one's own self.  And the moment your own self is awakened you are rooted in existence. Then you know that you are part of divine existence. Then you know that you are part of an organic unity of the whole. To experience it is to become divine. And to know oneself as part of the whole, an intrinsic part of the whole, bing great joy, because the most significant part of man's life is to know that he is needed by existence. Without meditation man feels useless, but with meditation man feels useful. With meditation man's passion becomes compassion. With mediation man rises to new heights, and compassion becomes unconditional love.”

“Meditation is the art of being alone. It is to forget the whole world. It is to forget the worries, chaos and tensions of the world as if it does not exist anymore. When you come to that space inside you, when only you are and nothing else exists, that is aloneness. It is not loneliness. You are with yourself. You are not missing anything. For the first time you are with yourself, For the first time you are not lonely. Ordinarily people are lonely even when they are in a crowd of people. Even while they are with friends, they are lonely. One tries to forget the loneliness through alcohol, looking at TV or through being constantly occupied. One tries anything that can help you to forget yourself and your loneliness. But sooner or later you have to come back to yourself and your loneliness. People are lonely in crowds and lonely in their relationships. Meditation is what creates a miracle: you are alone, but you are not lonely. For the first time you are with yourself, for the first time you can love yourself in your aloneness. For the first time you find bliss of aloneness. The moment that you start finding the bliss of your aloneness, it becomes wisdom. Then you are not dependent on anybody. You have found the source of bliss within yourself. That is wisdom. Now you have freedom: you can be everywhere, and you can be blissful.”

“Love is the path, and love is the goal. Love is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Love is the first step and the last step. Love contains the whole of religion. But love has to be understood. Love is not lust, it is not a desire to get something from anybody. Love is an overflowing joy. Love is sharing. Love is freedom. Love is creativity. When you love you want to enrich the world. You want to make the world a little bit better and beautiful. When you do not know love, you become destructive. Then you become poisonous. Love means that you are grateful to existence. And out of that gratefulness, you want to contribute to existence. Love is prayer. Love is thankfulness. Slowly you move higher into the world of love. New dimensions of love start opening up to you. Love is no more a relationship, but you are simply loving. Love makes the whole existence one. Love opens the realization that existence is one ultimate unity, and only with unity can webe blissful, eternal and deathless. That is our true reality, that is your very being. To discover it is the whole purpose of life.”

“Man can live in misery, but man can also live in joy. It all depends on how you live, on how you approach life. If one never learns the art of living, life will be a misery. Unless you learn the art of living, you can't have love, silence, joy, awareness, truth and freedom. Everybody comes with an inner potential, but very few people develop that potential. The potential remains unused. One should be more like a flowing river, than a stagnant pond. We have to become flowing, moving into the unknown and always reaching for the ocean. This has been called God, truth, nirvana and enlightenment, but it is really nothing but life blossoming.”

“One can choose two orientations in life. The first orientation inlife is the worldly and mundane orientation. The second orientation in life is the spiritual way. The worldly and mundane way means that one can succeed in having much money, power, status, prestige and possessions, but inside one will remain empty, alone and miserable. Life becomes a vegetation between birth and death, but there will be no real joy in life. The worldly way means to be part of the collective unconscious masses of people. The spiritual way means that you are trying to be an individual. It means to live your own life. It means to trust yourself and to live your life according to your heart, joy, truth, freedom and creativity. To live the spiritual way is insecure and dangerous. The unconscious masses will condemn you, because the spiritual way will not bring you power, money and status in society, but it will bring you joy. It will be a life of love, silence, truth, beauty and creativity. Things that arenot values by society. The world values money, power, prime ministers, presidents, politicians, priests, Adolf Hitler, Napoleon, Alexander theGreat and war. The world condemns poets, musicians, intellectuals, authors and meditators, because they seem to be vagabonds, lazy and useless in the eyes of the worldly people. To live a spiritual life, one has to accept these condemnations from people who only value money, power and possessions. A meditator has to live a life of love, silence, truth, freedom, non-political and egoless. The meditator has to live his life with love, joy and truth. The meditator has to live and die with joy and acceptance. Then he has achieved something that even death cannot take away from him. Only then he will enjoy life to the fullest.”

“The meditator and the soldier are of opposite polarity in the world. The soldier is born when the soul of the person is destroyed. The soldier has been forced. controlled and manipulated to become a mechanical robot. He is reduced to an non-human entity, which has fallen below the human. He has forgotten his own freedom. Throughout the history of man soldiers have been needed, because human history has consisted of trying to conquer the world and achieve world dominion. The stupidity of trying to conquer the world has been the basic cause of the soldier, because humanity has not become mature. The whole training of the soldier is to remain immature and prevent his spiritual growth. The exact opposite polarity of the soldier is the meditator. The mediator is a growth of spiritual maturity. It means a spiritual maturity born out of love, not fear. It means a spiritual growth out of freedom, not out of slavery. This spiritual maturity of love and freedom is not imposed. It grows out his being, so that one day you will say yes to the whole existence, to life itself. Ultimately it is saying yes to God, which is the ultimate peak of love, trust, joy, truth and freedom. That is the ultimate peak of consciousness. The soldier falls below humanity, while the meditator goes above humanity.”

“We all live in the past. Your parents have given you a certain conditioning. The society has given you a certain conditioning, and to live in that conditioning is to live your life in a prison. The religions have forced you to be a Christian, a Hindu, a Mohammedan or a Buddhist, which are all conditionings. Meditation is a freedom from all these conditionings that parents, the society and the religions have forced on you. Unless you are free you will never be able to hear your own authentic inner voice. Your parents will tell you "do this and don't do this." The priests will goon creating guilt and shame in you. They will not allow you to be yourself.  Nobody in the world is really interested in anybody else being given the freedom to be himself or herself. Everybody is trying to impose their ideas and ideologies on others.  That is why humanity is in such misery and chaos. We have created an ugly world, where we have not allowed children to be themselves.  We have created a prison made of ideas, theologies and ideologies. You can think that you are free, but you are not free. We have to get rid of this prison. We have to uncondition ourselves, sothat we become free. It is first when the whole sky is ours that the whole existence is ours. When one realizes this, one just wants freedom, joy, silence,  awareness, truth and love. In that inner silence and freedom, the whole heritage of humanity becomes ours. Then we know that truth is within ourselves. My first book in English, The Silent Whisperings of the Heart, is dedicated to my parents, Essy and Sven, with the dedication: "My parents, who taught me what love and freedom are.” My whole childhood was an atmosphere and climate of love and freedom. An American astrologer said in an astrology  session in the United States that my mother seemed to be a very special  woman. She was so rebellious that the boys in elementary school held herdown and shot her in the foot with an air rifle.  Once when I was in high school, I wanted to  have a little parental conflict, and said to my mother that I would never go back to school again. My mother replied: I would never do that either. This atmosphere and climate of love and freedom made me always feel that I could be who I am. It also taught me early to listen to my inner true voice, which early began to guide me in life.”

“The definition of meditation is to learn to live in freedom. Meditation means to break all chains and destroy all walls that surround you. Meditation is to come out of the prison of the mind into the open sky of the heart. The heart is capable of knowing freedom. To be free one has to move from the mind to the heart. Living in the heart you learn the ABC of freedom. You go beyond the boundaries step by step, and you taste the beauty of freedom.”

“The love that we know is momentary. One day it is there, the next day it is gone. The momentariness shows that it is not real love. It can be many things, but it is not real love. It can be sex, a psychological need, the fear of being alone, an effort to remain occupied with another person or the need to fill one's loneliness and emptiness. If it is real love, the most essential quality would be that it is everlasting. Once you have tasted eternal love, timeless love, it ill transform you. Then you are no more part of the mundane world. You have entered into the sacred world. You go on living in the same ordinary world, but you become more ordinary than before. You lose all pretensions. You forget about being somebody. You become utterly ordinary. In that ordinariness, there is a silence, a grace and a beauty. You become full of light, because you are full of love. you are always ready to share with others, because you have found an inexhaustible inner source. This love has nothing to do with relationships. The love that is eternal relates, but it never creates relationships. It relates with the trees, with the wind, with the animals, with the people, with the earth and with the sun. Relating is like a flowing river, while relationships are something stagnant, which has stopped growing. And when something has stopped growing, you start feeling bored, because you start losing contact with life. Life is always like a river, but you are tethered to something: a wife, a husband, a relationship. Man's greatest joy is to be free. And a relationship is creating a situation in which that freedom is lost. A being is alive when it is becoming. Being is becoming. If you stop becoming, your being becomes like a rock. You have to know the difference between relating and relationships. This is true about both life and love. Never lose your freedom. And never destroy anybody else's freedom. A real religious person remains free, and he helps people who come to him, to be free. He never possesses anybody, and he never allows anybody else to possess him. Then life becomes a constant growth, which goes higher and higher.”

“The search för love, joy, silence, truth, freedom or God is really a search for a union with the whole. We are brought up by a society, civilization and religion in such a way that we are given a false identity. We are all deceived by powerful people, who depend on lying and cheating. They have been cheating for centuries to be able to accumulate money and power, and they are afraid of allowing anybody to discover the truth. The whole business of the politicians, the priests, the establishment, the status quo, the vested interests, the education system, the media and the rich depend on people who are gullible and ready to be deceived. From the very childhood these people creates such situations that the child becomes aware that if he wants to survive in the world he has to compromise his truth. If the child says the truth he will be getting into trouble. By the time he is strong enough to be truthful hehas lost all sense of truth. The lies have gone so deep in him that they have become unconscious, so that it has become almost impossible to get rid of them. That is the whole process of a man searching for truth: to undo what the society has done to him. You have to be reborn, and you will have to become aware that the ego is a false identity imposed on you. You are not separate at all from the whole. You are part of the organic whole. And to know it brings great joy, because when you are not a separate entity, then how can anxiety and anguish exist? Then life becomes a joy. Then there is freedom without any fear.”

“Society creates all kinds of conditioning and hindrances for us to reach our true nature. Society does not allow us to be ourselves. Society is dampening all our attempts to be happy. The whole effort and conditioning of culture, politics, religion, education, media and civilization is not to allow you to be your own natural self, not to allow you to be happy. This is done for the simple reason that the person who can be himself and who can be happy cannot be manipulated. if people are to be manipulated - politically, socially and religiously - then their trust to be themselves has to be destroyed. We have not yet been able to create a natural and life-affirmative culture. So the individual has to make every effort to be himself and to be happy for himself, so that others also can be allowed to be who they are and to be happy. The first concern is our own being, our own consciousness, our true self, and everything else is secondary. The first concern is not society, the church, the world and to fight for your country. The first responsibility is to discover our innermost being, our true self. Once it is discovered everything else becomes easy, and it happens on its own accord. Then love, silence, joy, truth, compasion, freedom, creativity and grace flows. They are by-products of consciousness.”

“The conditioning of society is to destroy your capacity to be aware, to be conscious, to feel and to see. Then people can accept any kind of state in society. Just to survive they accept all kinds of humiliations. They are ready to live on a survival level. They are ready to live on a very low level of consciousness. Many people are existing below the human level. A person who is aware, conscious, who feel and see will rebel wherever he sees anything unjust and inhuman. He will not tolerate it. There is so much injustice everywhere. To protect this injustice and all the political and economical investments that depends on it, society starts from the beginning to socialize and conform the child to live only on a minimum level. This guarantees that the control and exploitation of society continues. The state, the politicians, the pedagogues, the priests, the media and the rich, they all control, manipulate and exploit people. The conditioning of societyis to make people unaware, unconscious and dull, because to allow people to be aware and conscious are dangerous to society. The whole society basically functions against making people aware and conscious. Meditation is the way to learn to be aware, awake, conscious, watchful and available, which is why society basically is against meditation. Meditation makes you aware enough to find love. Meditation makes you aware enough to rebel wherever there is anything injust and inhuman. Meditation makes you aware and conscious enough to go against the unconscious mob psychology, which functions from the lowest state of consciousness.”

“We are born free, but we are not allowed to live in freedom by the society. Everybody is born in freedom, but everybody lives in a prison. Everybody lives as a prisoner and dies as a prisoner. The most spiritual act in life is to live in freedom. Meditation is the way to regain your freedom. Meditation is the way to destroy all the barriers and bondages that have been created by the society, the state, the establishment, the status quo and the church. The society do not want you to live in freedom, because a free person cannot be controlled, manipulated and exploited. A free person cannot be reduced to a thing, a possession. The society do not believe in man, the society believes in machines, because machines are obedient and do not rebel. Man can rebel, which is why each child is chained in such a way that very few people are able to live a life of freedom. Meditation is a declaration of freedom. A meditator has to be alert, aware, adventurous and courageous to live in freedom. A meditator's search is for freedom, and when he is totally free he knows God.”

“The moment truth is organized it becomes a lie. Jesus and Buddha never created any organized religion. An organized religion becomes politics. It becomes a manipulation, control and exploitation by the priests. You don't have to be Christians or Buddhists, because your own potential is to be a buddha. Buddha taught you to become a buddha. The people who were with Buddha were not part of any organized religion. They were free and independent individuals. Buddha did not want to be anybody's guru, he simply wanted to be a friend, a fellow traveler on the spiritual path. He wanted to create as many individuals in the world with absolute freedom in their soul with no chains to Christianity or Buddhism and with no scriptures, no teachings, except for awareness. He taught spirituality, not religion. Spirituality is not a membership of any church or cult, but a quality that transforms your being and makes your inner potential blossom. Buddha was available to help his people to become buddhas. He wanted a world of buddhas, who were free from organized religions and cults, and who would find their own wings to fly in the sky. Truth brings freedom, freedom from religions, cults and scriptures. Truth brings a silence, a peace and a sense of eternity, and immortality and deathlessness. But it has nothing to do with organized religion and cults.”

“When we embrace the opposites within ourselves and understand that inner harmony arises when they mature, we find the love, joy, silence and freedom that are hidden in every moment. It is my experience that it is through the inner female side that we find the depth within ourselves – independent of if we are a man or a woman. It is through the female side that we find the inner source of love and truth. It is through the female side that we lit the light of our own consciousness. The more we learn to know the inner man and woman and the more we accept their different visions of life, the more a meeting happens between them that makes us happy and satisfied. Through embracing both these sides in ourselves, we realize that we really lack nothing – but that we already are love. When both the male and female side is capable of living in trust, a love begins to flow between them – a love that was always possible, but not realized. The inner woman is the meditative quality within ourselves. The inner woman is the source of love and truth. The inner woman is the capacity to surrender to life. It is through the inner woman that we are in contact with life. It is the inner woman that is the door to belongingness with the Whole.”

“What are the path of love and the path of meditation? There are basically two different paths to enlightenment. These two paths are The path of love and The path of meditation. The path of love is the female path to enlightenment and The path of meditation is the male path to enlightenment. The path of love is the path of love, joy, relationships, devotion and surrender. The path of meditation is the path of meditation, silence, aloneness and freedom. These two paths has different ways, but they have the same goal. Through love and surrender the person that walks The path of love discovers the inner silence. Through meditation and aloneness the person that walks The path of meditation discovers the inner source of love. These two paths are like climbing the mountain of enlightenment through different routes, but the two paths are meeting on the summit of the mountain - and discover an inner integration between love and meditation, between relating and aloneness. Before I accept to work with a student now, I make an intuitive and clairvoyant evaluation about which spiritual paths that the student has walked before in previous lives. This intuitive assessment gives information about the spiritual level that the student has attained, and it also makes it easier to guide the person spiritually if he has followed a certain path in the past. A female student of mine laughed recently when I told her that she had followed The path of love in several past lives. She commented: "You have told me three times now that I have walked the path of love and silence, but with my head I still do not understand it." But this overall assessment of her spiritual growth uptil now, and of the spiritual paths that she had walked, made all the pieces of her life puzzle fit together - and brought a new, creative light to all her life choices in her current life. A male student of mine, who was a Tibetan monk in a previous life, walks The path of meditation, and I notice how I change my language and the methods that I recommend when I guide him along the path of meditation. I now work with students who walk both The path of love and The path of meditation, which also allows me to discover a deeper integration of love and meditation on my path to enlightenment.”

“Meditation is the beginning of freedom, freedom from politics, freedom from religion and freedom from bondage. It is to enter into universality. A meditator is not identified with a certain country He is not Swedish, Indian or American, he is simply human. He is not white or black, because he is not the body. He is not Christian, Hindu or Mohammedan, because ideology belongs to the mind and meditation is to transcend the mind. All social forces are against individual freedom. Society destroys individuals, so one has to know the strategy to escape from the prison of society and the church. Meditation is the way to come out of the prison, and learn the language of freedom. It changes your consciousness, it changes how you see things. And the freedom that has always been within you become released, which changes you at your very roots.”

“The inner woman is the source of healing. The inner woman is the source of silence. The inner woman is the source of love. The inner woman is the source of belongingness with life. Embracing the inner man and woman is to discover our inner roots and wings.”

“Becoming aware of our inner man and woman means to discover the roots and creative potential of both the male and female aspect within ourselves. Becoming aware of the inner man and woman means to understand that they have different visions of life. It means to understand that they have different perspectives and views of life. The inner man and woman are our two wings of love and freedom. Through awareness, acceptance and understanding, we can allow our two wings to develop in a deep and natural harmony. In the world today, a one-sided development of the male side leads to destructivity. A one-sided development of the male side leads to ego, struggle, exhaustion and a separation from life. A one-sided development of the female side leads to passivity and dependence.”

“We know a love that is momentary. It is a love that one day is there, and another day it is gone. Its very momentariness shows that it is not real love. It is something that is masquerading as love. Maybe it is really lust, some psychological need, the fear of being alone, an effort to remain occupied with another person or an effort to fill one's inner emptiness. Itcan be a thousand and done  things, but it is not real love. The most essential quality of real love is its quality of everlastingness. Once you have taste the eternity of love, the timelessness of love, you are transformed. Then you are no more part of the mundane world. You enter  into the world of the sacred. you enter  into  the holy world. You can go on living in the same ordinary way. In fact, you become more ordinary than before. You lose all pretensions. You lose all egoistic trips. You forget about being somebody, you become utterly ordinary. But in that ordinariness there is a light, a beauty and a grace. You are full of light, because you are full of love. You are always ready to share, because you have found  an inner inexhaustible source. You have found the inner source of love, which is our true nature. This love has nothing to do with relationships. The love which is eternal relates, but it never becomes relationships. The love which is eternal relates to the trees, to the animals, to the birds, to the wind, to the people, to the moon and to the sky. It is a twenty-four-hours-a-day relation, but it does not create any relationships.  Relating is like a river. It is a flow, it is a movement, it is alive. It is a dance. Relationships are something stagnant, it is something static. Something has stopped  growing. The joy has disappeared. You start feeling sad and an anguish arises in you, because you start losing contact with life. Life is always riverlike. Man's greatest joy is being free. But in relationships you are tethered to a husband, a wife or a friend. The human mind continuously creates situations in which the freedom is lost. The seeker of truth and freedom have to know the difference between relationships and relating. Never  lose your freedom, and never destroy any else's freedom. A really religious person remains free, and he helps other  people to be free. It needs constant awareness and vigilance to be free, because our minds always want to cling. The mind wants to cling to the known, to the secure and to the familiar, because you are afraid of the unknown, the unfamiliar. So on one hand you cling, and on the other hand you want freedom. We can only grow in freedom. When we choose freedom, our life will become a constant joy, a constant growth.”

“Enlightenment is not an experience at all, because the experiencer is lost. The "I", the ego is lost. Enlightenment is more like an experiencing. It is a process. It begins, but it never ends. You enter it, but you can never possess it. It is a deep merging and melting with Existence. It is a oneness. It is like a drop dropping into the Ocean.”
