Famous Swami Dhyan Giten Quotes

“My path in life in life has always been to trust myself; my path in life has always been to trust my intuition, to trust my heart, to trust the inner true voice, to trust my inner source of love, truth and wisdom, which is already in contact with the Whole. I have always listened to other people, and to what situations in life can teach me, but then I have always listened to the silent whisperings of my heart. There is always a meaning with whatever happens. It is basically a question of perspective; it is a question of seeing a situation from the perspective of the limited personality, or to see a situation from the perspective of the unlimited inner being, from the perspective of the soul. It is a question of seeing the creative potential in every situation, to see what we can learn in every situation, and to be open to see how life will solve this situation. When we see the situation from the perspective of the soul, it is like watching the situation from the summit of the mountain, instead of seeing the situation from the perspective of the personality, to see the situation from the foot of the mountain. When we see the situation from the perspective of the soul, we can also see that both good and bad situations, both positive and negative experiences, are teachers in life to learn to create a greater understanding of the Whole.”

“Some years ago, I felt that Iexperienced more limitations than possibilities in a spiritual organization, which I had belonged to for a long time. It became clear for me that I was prepared to expand, and take a new step in my spiritual growth. To be spiritual does not mean to belong to a spiritual group. I felt that I had grown out of the kindergarten, and my inner tree was bearing fruit. Too many large trees cannot grow in a narrow area. This was a lesson to stand on my own feet; it was a lesson for me to live my own life, to live my own truth, without following anybody else. I do not belong to any spiritual group or tradition. I am only interested in exploring what it means to live with open eyes. This lesson developed and expanded my inner being. Many years ago, when I sat and meditated by a slow flowing river in India, it taught me that if I learnt to listen to the river, if I surrendered and became one with the river, I did not need any other teacher in meditation. This river could teach me all the mysteries of life. In the same way, everything can become a door to the secrets of life, for example a man or a woman, a tree, a bird, a stone or the blue sky, if we know how ro listen and surrender. It is such a deep joy, such a deep inner satisfaction, to feel that I belong to life, that I am one with Existence. When Buddha was lying on his deathbed, and the disciples asked him if he had any last words for them, he said: Be a light to yourself. You are born with a light within you. You are enough to yourself. You are sufficient to yourself. Listen to the still small voice within, and that will guide you. Buddha defines wisdom as living in the light of our own consciousness. Buddha's message to be a light to yourself is a message to all seekers of truth and all meditators on the path of enlightenment. You have to be silent, so that you can listen to the still small voice within you. Follow your own voice in silence, love and deep trust. You have to follow the still, small voice within you and you have to follow your being.”

“There are not many things that the different approaches of modern psychology agree about, but there is one thing that they all agree about: that people in groups and organizations, simply put, become more stupid. Individually people are more intelligent, because they have to take more responsibility. But in a group, people do not have to take the same amount of responsibility. People in groups and organizations tend to get caught up in the need of the ego to create hierarchies of power, status, positions, roles, norms and conformity. All organizations are more or less dysfunctional. The sign of a dysfunctional group is that the members of the group play three roles and positions: aggressor, denier and victim. It is always easier to follow the group without reflection or awareness, than to trust your own heart, to trust your own intelligence, truth, wisdom and creativity. It is not always easy to follow your own heart, but it always leads your right.”

“To be able to die consciously, we need to prepare for death while we are still living. Only if we live consciously, we can die consciously. Only a meditator is able to die consciously as life is an opportunity to prepare for death. Meditation is a death, a death of the ego. Death is not in opposition of life, death is the finale, the crescendo of life. How we die shows us how we have been living. Death is not an end, death is a new beginning, a new life.”

“Your natural being is not acceptable to the religions. Their conditioning has been going on for centuries and naturally you begin to develop a certain conscience, which is not the same thing as your consciousness. The conscience is social conditioning and the consciousness is our natural and ultimate nature. For the consciousness there is nothing in you. The religions have been teaching you that you are born in sin and that our natural nature leads to more sin. They have taught you that you have to fight with yourself; you have to fight with your nature. Their basic teaching is that your nature is evil and you have to reject it. Almost everything in you that is natural has to be rejected. Life has tube denied, love has to be denied, sex has to be denied and joy has to be denied. This is a very cunning strategy of the religions, so that they could catch hold and control humanity. They have repressed your sexuality that is our basic life energy. It is the energy that basically keeps you alive. The word sex has been so condemned that even using the world makes you feel like you are doing something wrong.”

“The Art of Living is to be yourself. It is to be true to yourself. The Art of Living is learning to live with love, awareness and truth. Meditation is the way to learn The Art of Living. Being is you. To discover your being is the beginning of life. You can live in two ways: 1. Ego - effort and desire and 2.Being - no-effort, being in a let go with existence. Religion is The Art of Living. Five keys to The Art of Living: 1. Be life-affirmative. Life is synonymous with God. Live with reverence, great respect and gratitude for life. Feel thankful and prayerful. 2. Make life an heartful, aesthetic experience. Become more sensitive, sensuous and creative - and you will become more spiritual. 3.Experience life in all possible ways. Experience all dualities and polarities of life: good/bad, bitter/sweet, summer/winter, happiness/sadness and life/death. Do not be afraid of experience, because the more experiences you have, the more spiritually mature you become. 4. Live in the present. Forget the past and the future - this moment is the only reality. This moment has to become your whole love, life and death. 5.Live courageously. Do not become too result-oriented, because result-oriented people miss life. Do not think of goals, because goals are in the future - and life is in the moment, in the here and now.”

“Truth is only one. Truth is neither mine nor yours. Truth does has not belong to anybody. Truth does not belong to any religion, to any ideology, to any church, to any country or to any time. Truth is eternal. Truth is the very centre of the whole existence. It is also our being, our life centre, and everyone's being. We are different on the surface, on the circumference, but we are joined at the centre. As we start moving  towards our innermost being, towards our center, we start moving towards oneness of being. On our journey towards oneness of being, first our personality is lost. The personality is a very peripheral thing, a very cultivated and conditioned. It is something imposed from theoutside. And when the personality  disappears, individuality appears. Individuality remains for the whole journey between the surface and the inner being, the centre. Then when you enter the centre even individuality disappears, and you become universal. It is to attain the ultimate truth. A man who has reached to truth lives only to liberate people. His whole life is nothing but a sharing of his joy. He has nothing else to live for. All his desires and ambitions have disappeared. He has no motivation of his own. As long as he lives he lives and breathes for all. He lives for all. He has reached the ultimate height of love, silence, truth and freedom. He has inherited the whole existence. This is possible for those who really want to know the ultimate truth. It is possible for anyone, who are ready to go on a journey to risk his personality, to attain individuality, and then to risk even individuality to attain universality.”

“Joy is the fragrance of meditation. Meditation means becoming more silent. Joy is possible only if we become silent. All that is needed to become silent is awareness. When we become aware and can watch, we find the music of silence. We can watch whatever is happening inside, and the moment it evaporates we are left with a deep silence. Then we have gone beyond, and we have reached beyond time. Then we realize our immortality. Religions have not been able to create a synthesis between silence and joy. They have failed in creating the whole man, because a man can be silent but if he is not joyful his silence becomes cold. Society prefers cold silence, because then you are not a trouble to anyone. Society does not want you to be alive. Society wants you to be an efficient machine. Society is more interested in mechanical efficiency than in human growth.  Therefore society goes on preaching to people to be silent and obedient. Then people lose their freedom, intelligence, joy, truth, love and courage. He loses his whole being to become a convenient cog in the wheel of society. The more powerful the society, the establishment, the media, the vested interests and the rich becomes, the more they become a threat to humanity and the more people  will become enslaved. The seeker of truth has to create a synthesis, where inner silence and outer joy is developed. Then your being is rooted in wholeness. To know it is to know God. To know it is to know all.”

“The most fundamental thing to understand is that life is God's gracious gift. Deep in our heart we have to understand that life is a tremendous gift, which has not to be wasted. Life is an opportunity to grow. We have to understand that each moment in life is precious. One has to look inwards. One should not remain concerned just with outside things, because that is how people waste their lives. One should start searching within and ask who we really are. One should go deeper into one's consciousness to find our authentic inner being. The moment you find your inner being all questions are answered. Then there is no confusion anymore, and a clarity arises. This is the moment when you understand how much the universe has given to you. And when you move into silence, you are moving into God.”

“The basic teaching of all religions is silence. A silence spread in our inner being, the mind will begin to dissolve. That silence unites you with truth. When a person is ready to dissolve into silence, his ego will disappear, and he will not be separated from existence. A holy person means one who has become silent within. A spiritual teacher is a death, because the ego of the student will dissolve completely. Within the student arises a pure emptiness, and samadhi is born.”

“Sermon of the Mounts Matthew 5 AND SEEING THE MULTITUDES, HE WENT UP INTO THE MOUNTAINS, AND WHEN HE WAS SET, HIS DISCIPLES CAME UNTO HIM. The multitudes, the masses, the crowd, is the lowest state of consciousness. It is a deep ignorance and sleep. If you want to relate and communicate with the masses, you have to come down to their level. That is why whenever you go into the masses, the crowd, you start to feel suffocated. This suffocation is physical and psychological, beacuse you relate to people, who functions from a very low state of consciousness. They pull you down and you become physically and psychologically tired and drained. That is why a need for meditation and aloneness arises. There is a practice in the life of Jesus that he noves into the crowds of people, but after a few months he goes to the mountains. He goes away from the crowd, to be with God. When you are alone, you are with God. To relate to the masses brings you down to their level of consciousness, but only in the presence of God, you can fly. With the crowd, you can not fly, you become crippled, and the masses will not tolerate if you do not live according to them, according to their level of consciousness. To be able to work with the masses, to be able to help them, you have to relate to them according to their level fo consciousness - and this is tiring and draining. Both Jesus and Buddha moved to the mounatins, to a lonely place, just to be themselves, and to be with God to regain their vitality to be able to come back to the masses where people are thristy. The montain is where Jesus do not need to think about the masses, where he can forget the mind and the body. In that moment of aloneness and meditation, one simply is. This is the inner being, the source of life. And when you are full again, you can share again. AND WHEN HE WAS SET, HIS DISCIPLES CAME UNTO HIM. To talk to the masses and to talk to disciples is two very different things. To talk to the crowd is to talk to people, who are indifferent. The crowd is resisting, defensive and argumentative. To talk to disciples means to talk to people, who have a basic thirst. It means that they are not defensive, they are open to listen to the heart of truth. AND HE OPENED HIS MOUTH, AND TAUGHT THEM, SAYING. Jesus escaped into the mountains from the crowd, but he did not escape from the disciples. He was available to the disciples. In his aloneness, Jesus is with God. And through Jesus, the disciples can feel God. The closer the disciple come to Jesus, the more they will see that Jesus is a silence and emptiness through which God can sing. And the more the disciple himself will become an emptiness, he will also be able to help other people. AND HE OPENED HIS MOUTH, AND TAUGHT THEM, SAYING. BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT, FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD. This is the most fundamental statement of Jesus. With this statement, Jesus has said everything. The "poor in spirit" is exactly what Buddha means with the term Shunyatta - "emptiness", no-self, nothingness. It is when the ego disappears, and you are a nobody, a silence. If you are a nobody, if you are nothing, you are God.”

“The truth is one. Truth is neither mine nor yours. Truth does not belong to anybody. Truth does not belong to any religion, to any ideology, to any country or to any time. Truth is within. Truth is eternal. Truth is the centre of the whole existence. Truth is always in our centre and everyone's centre. We are different on the circumference of our consciousness, but we are all joined at the centre of our consciousness. When we start moving toward our centre, first the personality is lost. The personality is a cultivated and conditioned thing. When the personality disappears, individuality appears. Individuality means that we are in contact with our inner being, our authentic self. When you go deeper into the center even the individuality disappears, and you become universal. The man who has attained to truth lives only to liberate people. His whole life is nothing but a sharing of his joy and freedom. As long as he lives he lives for all. He has reached the ultimate height of joy, silence, truth, freedom and godliness. He has inherited the whole existence.”

“Man can live either as an island isolated from existence. He can think himself separated, but then there is misery. The misery is created, because we are going against existence. You cannot be happy if you are going against existence. Then you are fighting a losing battle trying to swim upstream in opposition to the current of the river of life. You may succeed for a while, but sooner or later you will be tired and  exhausted. It is your own ideas that the river is an enemy that has created the whole problem. The river is not fighting you. You have tried to fight it,and you got defeated. The part can never win over the whole, If you would have accepted going with the flow of the river, there would have been no defeat. You would not have felt that existence has been against you. You would have felt that existence is a friend.  You would have felt a joy in going with the river. You would have felt that the river was giving you strength. That is the way of the religious person. The first way - The way of the ego  - is the way of the irreligious person. The second way - The way of the heart - is the way of letting go. It is the way of the religious person. And the moment that you let go and merge with existence, God becomes your strength and there is great rejoicing in the heart. Then each momentis a moment of joy without any fight and struggle. That is the miracle of being religious.”

“Up to now the whole past of humanity has been to condemn life and the joy of life. It has been a life-negative approach to life. It is to be against God, the divine, the whole,  because life is God. All the organized religions, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism, have been life-negative. They destroy the capacity to love life, and make you feel shameful and guilty about your joy in life. Meditation and awareness helps you to become free of all shame and guilt, and find the joy in life. Meditation is to rejoice in life, and also to help others to be happy in life, because life is divine.”

“Love is the path, and love is the goal. Love is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Love is the first step and the last step. Love contains the whole of religion. But love has to be understood. Love is not lust, it is not a desire to get something from anybody. Love is an overflowing joy. Love is sharing. Love is freedom. Love is creativity. When you love you want to enrich the world. You want to make the world a little bit better and beautiful. When you do not know love, you become destructive. Then you become poisonous. Love means that you are grateful to existence. And out of that gratefulness, you want to contribute to existence. Love is prayer. Love is thankfulness. Slowly you move higher into the world of love. New dimensions of love start opening up to you. Love is no more a relationship, but you are simply loving. Love makes the whole existence one. Love opens the realization that existence is one ultimate unity, and only with unity can webe blissful, eternal and deathless. That is our true reality, that is your very being. To discover it is the whole purpose of life.”

“Only by going through the fire of love, one becomes a heart. It is the fire of love that creates the soul. Not having a heart is what makes life meaningless, but millions of people live without a heart. The heart is the spiritual centre of our being. It is only the heart that can bring joy to our life.”

“The first thing is to learn to love yourself. This is the first step to get rid of all the teaching and condemnations of the religions. This allows you to not feel guilty about anything, because nature has given you so much that should be accepted with joy. Loving yourself means that you throw out all the garbage of religious condemnation, rejection and repression.”

“What is religion? Religion is to be in tune with the whole. Religion is to be in love with the whole. Religion is to be together with the whole. Religion means to listen to our own authentic being. Religion means to listen to the silent voice within ourselves, which will always lead us right. Religion means to realize that God is already available to you, both from the inside and from the outside. Religion means to realize that we are already one with God. Religion means the understanding and awareness that makes your doors open and allow God to enter in. The purpose of reöigion is to dissolve in silence. When you lose yourself for the first time you are yourself. When the ego disappears, we become awareness, joy and spontaneity. We become a vehicle, an instrument for the whole. The three dimensions of existence, the three faces of God, are life, love and light. The first dimension is just the beginning of a great journey, a great pilgrimage. Those who think that life is the end miss the whole point of life. The majority of people Take life as the end. What happens then is that people become greedy for life. Their life becomes full of greed, possessiveness and violence. Life should not be taken for granted. The people that take life for granted are the worldly people and these are the people who have made the world ugly and violent. These are the mundane and mediocre people. They become politicians, hoarders and exploiters. Their whole existence seems to be directed towards one thing: survival. Life lived without love and light is only one-dimensional. Love means introducing a new dimension into your life, which is the dimension of the heart. Love means to introduce joy and delight in your being. Now you don't live only on the one-dimensional horizontal plane. Now you live in two dimensions: life and love. Your life becomes rich. Only by going through the fire of love, one becomes a heart. It is the fire of love that creates the soul. Not having a heart is what makes life meaningless, but millions of people live without a heart. The heart is the spiritual centre of our being. It is only the heart that can bring joy to our life. Never be afraid of love because it is love that will bring you closer to your heart. And it is the heart that can open the doors to God. God can enter only through the heart. God is hidden in our own heart. God is within ourselves, but we seek him outside of ourselves. We seek him in the churches, the temples and the mosques, and we go on missing him. God is not in the scriptures either. God emerges out of your heart. Love people, love trees and love animals. Never miss an opportunity to love. The more you love, the closer you come to God. Love is the bridge to God. How do love and meditation relate to each other? How do relationships and aloneness relate to each other? How do God meet you in different forms in the outside world, and how do God meet in you in the inside world as your own self? In the outside world, in love and relationships, God is meeting you in many different forms. In the inside world, in meditation and aloneness, God is meeting you as your own self. Balance is needed. Love and meditation and relationships and aloneness are a balance between the inner and outer world. Love and meditation, the inner and the outer world. Love and meditation and the inner and outer the world is needed to create a balance. Together these two poles create a wholeness; together they will heal you. Make these two poles part of meditation, so that love and relationships are good to create wholeness. And in the outside world, God is meeting you in many different forms. And when you feel the need again to be alone, God is meeting you as your own self. God is everywhere, so there is no need to choose. There is also a third dimension: light. Light means introducing meditation in your life. It means”

“God comes like a breeze. You cannot see it, but you can feel it. And you can be mmensely enriched and nourished by it. If somebody is open to you, they will also feel your bliss. God cannot be believed in, and those who believed in God are deceiving themselves. A real trust in God is not a belief, it is an insight and experience. God has to be experienced. When you do not have an experience, you are open to experience. In that freedom something can transpire. In that silence and emptiness, you are open for something from the beyond to transpire like a breeze. You cannot see it, but you will feel it. It has a freshness to it. You will feel the fragrance, and it will transform you. Then God is a certainty to you. Then only God exists.”

“Until now the whole of humanity has been in some wayor other condemning life and the joy and beauty of life. Until now the past of humanity has been life-negative. And to be life-negative is to be against God, because lifeis God. God is not separated from nature, people or life. All the organized religions have been life-negative. All the organized religions destroy something valuable in you. They make you feel guilty about yourself.  They make you feel guilty about being life-affirmative. They make yo ufeel guilty about loving life. They make you guilty about enjoying the joy and beauty of life. Meditation is helping you to be free of all guilt, and to rejoice in life. Meditation helps you to rejoice in even small things of life. Then even having a cup of coffee, taking a walk in nature or meeting a friend starts having  a sacred significance. You can have a cup of coffee in a prayerful way, and with such meditativeness that there is no need to go to a church or temple. Meditation is a help to rejoicein life and also help others to be happy, because bliss is divine.”

“Saying yes to existence means surrendering to God. It means not living the isolated life of the ego. It means becoming one with the whole. It contains in essence the whole of religion. Meditation is saying yes to existence. And then there is no fear. When you drop your ego all fear disappears. Then whatsoever God wills you do. You are no more responsible, because you are not. Then it is all up to God. With this trust a great revolution in your life happens. You don't exist as a separate entity anymore. It is like a drop slipping into the ocean. It means losing its limited definition, it means losing its identity, but it means to gain tremendously. It becomes the ocean. So the loss is not much, but the gain is infinite.”

“Love and prayer are two different expressions of the same energy. Love is more earthly, whole prayer is more unearthly, but the  experiences are the same. Love is more limited, because it aperson-to-person experience. Prayer is unlimited. It is from person to the impersonal existence. In the beginning it is from the person to the impersonal existence, but when you relate deeper with impersonal existence, the person is lost. It is like a drop disappearing  into  the ocean. The drop loses its boundaries. It become the ocean. The old identity of the drop will be gone. Many people think that they know what love is, but they do not know what love is. So how should they know about prayer, which is the highest form of love? Prayer is almost non-existential, and even love is experienced by very few people, because love also demands many essential things before they can experience it. Love cannot coexist with jealousy, anger, violence, hate, ego, possessiveness and domination. These are allanti-love phenomenon, which will destroy  the  possibility of love. To grow in real love one needs courage. Love challenges you. And you have to drop many things to become worthy of love. The first thing to drop is the ego. But we would like love with our ego intact. When love do  not exist, then everything higher than love is impossible. Prayer is the ultimate flowering of love. A man who knows love deeply, who has been able to drop his ego, will move towards  prayer  If loving one person is so beautiful, then how much more beautiful will it be to love the whole existence.  That is prayer. One need not believe in God to be able to pray. First one has to know love, then one has to know prayer and then Godis the third experience. True religiousness arises out ofl ove. Prayer is an overflowing love. And ultimately prayerreveals God to you.”

“Humanity has been living under a dark and destructive self-condemnation. Humanity has been poisoned and condemned, so that nobody thinks himself a beautiful being, nobody thinks himself worthy enough. If you condemn yourself, how can you grow and how can you worship existence? If you cannot worship existence within yourself, how can you worship existence within others? You can become a part of the whole only if you have a respect for the divine that resides within you. In creating you, God has already shown that he loves you. By loving yourself, you will know that you are a medium for God. In choosing you to be a medium, he has already loved you and respected you.”

“The person who is moving into meditation will be helped if he accepts the world as it is. The worldly person never accepts the world as it is, they are always trying to change the world according to their ideas.  The religious person accepts whatever is on the outside as it is. He is not disturbed; he is not distracted by the outside world. His whole work consists of moving within.”

“Religions all over the world have for centuries been telling people to serve humanity, ut this has not produced any effect, On the contrary, it has created hypocrites. People who are not blissful are unable to help anybody. You can only give light to others if you have the light in the first place. What has been happening is that blind people lead other blind people. This is a dangerous game, because if the blind person knows that he has nobody guiding him, then he tries to be aware and find his own way. He remains aware, careful and cautious. But if he finds somebody to lead him and guide him, then he need not be so alert. But if he is completely unaware that the guide is also blind, then there is more danger than before, and he will not live cautiously. He will think that somebody is there to take responsibility, so now he need not be alert. It is because of this situation - blind people leading other blind people - that the whole of humanity has almost become a madhouse. Life has almost become intolerable. And the people that have taught service to humanity have only hindered the growth of people. People start serving others, without knowing whether they are capable of helping others. The desire to guide others is there in anybody, because it is very ego-gratifying. That is why everybody is ready to give advice whether you ask for it or not. Only the people who are blissful can be helpers. Unless a man is conscious it is possible for him to guide anybody. One can help others only if one has first helped yourself. It begins from your very being, from your innermost core. There has been enough of the kind of help, which has done enough harm. The first step is to help yourself. If you can attain to light, to bliss and to an experience of godliness, then you are bound to help others. Then there is no need to say something about it. It will happen by itself, because your bliss, love, silence, light and truth will start overflowing. And only the joyful person can be helpful, the miserable person can only do harm. The most basic thing is to become blissful. You can only share what you have. A man who has learned to love himself will be able to love others. A man who has become blissful will be able to spread his bliss. One always gives whatsoever one has. One radiates it. It starts to radiate and to function on its own accord. It is a magic, which works on its own.”

“One should not waste life. Life is a great possibility to be, to grow, and one should not just vegetate and be lethargic. We have got life without paying for it, which is why we think life is valueless. One goes on living life like we can simply waste it. We waste life by putting our attention on the trivial things: money, power, position, status, greed and prestige, but we never think about life and it's infinite value. Everything else is just trivial in comparison to life.”

“Jesus was a man of love, of immense compassion. He loved this earth, the people, the threes, because that is the way to love God. God is life. Jesus is very life-affirmative. He says total yes to life. When you look into the eyes of each being that you meet, you meet God. Everybody is an incarnation of God - the threes, the flowers, the rocks, the animals, the people and the mountains. Love the people, love the threes, love the animals - and through the love you meet God. All are brothers here, because God is one. The threes, the flowers, the birds and the rocks are all your brothers, because they all come from the one source. if you are not reconciled with the world, you cannot pray to God. Prayer is only possible when you are in harmony with existence. The whole existence is your brother. The first step for prayer is to be reconciled with your brother. And your brother means all beings. Jesus is a celebration of being, a celebration of life. If you deny life, you deny God. If you say no to life, you say no to God, because God is life. To understand Jesus, you have to understand that life is God. If you say yes to life, you will feel a prayer arising in your heart, a yes arising in your being. The ego is a no to life, the ego is a separation from life. The inner being is a yes to life. The inner being is a deep yes and acceptance of life. Saying yes bridges you with the whole. It makes you a part of the whole. Saying yes will make you more and more spiritual. Jesus whole message is yes. The word "amen" means yes. You will never meet God, you will meet human beings, animals, stones and threes. You can love God through other human beings, through threes, through stones and through animals. And when you have learnt to love God through all his forms - then only love changes into prayer.”

“Prayer and Meditation Matthew 14 AND HE WENT UP INTO THE MOUNTAIN APART TO PRAY This was always the practice of Jesus when he would move into the masses, the crowd, afterwards he would go alone into deep prayer and meditation. Why did he do this? If you have been meditating, you will understand. You will understand that once you start meditating, a very fragile and delicate quality of consciousness is born in you. A flower of the unknown, of the beyond, starts opening, which is delicate. And whenever you move into the crowd, you lose something. Whenever you come back from the crowd, you come back lesser than you had gone. Something has been lost, some contact has been lost. The crowd pulls you down, it has a gravitation of it's own. You may not feel it if you live on the same plane of consciousness. Then there is no problem, then you have nothing to lose. In fact, when you live in the crowd, on the same plane, alone you feel very uneasy. When you are with people, you feel good and happy. But alone, you feel sad, your aloneness is not aloneness. It is loneliness, you miss the other. You do not find yourself in the aloneness, you simply miss the other. When you are alone, you are not alone, beacuse you are not there. Only the desire to be with others is there - that is what loneliness is. Always remember the distinction between aloneness and loneliness. Aloneness is a peak experience - loneliness is a valley. Aloneness has light in it, loneliness is dark. Loneliness is when you desire others; aloneness is when you enjoy yourself. When Jesus would move into the masses, into the crowd, he would tell his disciples to got to the other shore of the lake, and he would move into total aloneness. Not even the disciples were allowed to be with him. This was a constant practice with him. Whenever you go into the crowd, you are infected by it. You need a higher altitude to purify yourself, you need to be alone so that you can become fresh again. You need to be alone with yourself, so that you become together again. You need to be alone, so that you become centered and rooted in yourself again. Whenever you move with others, they push you off centre. AND WHEN THE EVENING WAS COME, HE WAS THERE ALONE Nothing is said about his prayer in the Bible, just the word "prayer". Before God or before existence, you simply need to be vulnerable - that is prayer. You are no to say something. So when you go into prayer, don't start saying something. It will all be desires, demands and deep complaints to God. And prayer with complaints is no prayer, a prayer with deep gratitude is prayer. There is no need to say something, you can just be silent. Hence nothing is said about what Jesus did in his aloneness. It simply says "apart to pray". He went apart, he became alone. That is what prayer is, to be alone, where the other is not felt, where the other is not standing between you and existence. When God's breeze can pass througn you, unhindered. It is a cleansing experience. It revejunates your spirit. To be with God simply means to be alone. You can miss the point, if you start thinking about God, then you are not alone. If you start talking to God, then in imagination you have created the other. And then you God is a projection, it will be a projection of your father. A prayer is not to say something. It is to be silent, open, available. And there is no need to believe in God, because that too is a projection. The only need is to be alone, to be capable of being alone - and immediately you are with God. Whenever you are alone, you are with God.”

“Meditation is the beginning of freedom, freedom from politics, freedom from religion and freedom from bondage. It is to enter into universality. A meditator is not identified with a certain country He is not Swedish, Indian or American, he is simply human. He is not white or black, because he is not the body. He is not Christian, Hindu or Mohammedan, because ideology belongs to the mind and meditation is to transcend the mind. All social forces are against individual freedom. Society destroys individuals, so one has to know the strategy to escape from the prison of society and the church. Meditation is the way to come out of the prison, and learn the language of freedom. It changes your consciousness, it changes how you see things. And the freedom that has always been within you become released, which changes you at your very roots.”

“Everybody is condemned from his early childhood. Whatever he does on his own is not acceptable, because the crowd of people in which a child is born have their own ideas and ideals. The child has to fit with their ideas and ideals. The people who are in power are able to mold the child in the way they want. This is the psychology behind the fact that everybody wants to pretend to be what he is not.  They have never been allowed to be themselves. Each person has been made into somebody else. Everybody knows that they have been forced and molded into something that they are not. Nobody is themselves and nobody is at ease with themselves.”

“We are all searching for a home. Everybody - consciously or unconsciously - are searching for a home. Somewhere deep within our being is a remembrance that we had ahome. It is very vague, but you have not forgotten itcompletely. It goes on surrounding us like a fog, a thirst and a a longing. It is like a faraway country, where you were happy, blissful and joyous, where there was no anxiety and no anguish, where life was pure bliss, and where life was a dance, a song.  Deep down somewhere that desire and longing still lurks. It still goes on guiding you to find it again. All religions are born out of this longing. It is a feelingthat "I am homeless. This is not the place where I belong. This is not life, this cannot be all, and something more must be there." We do not known what this more is, but it is a persistent feeling that goes on working inside. Sooner or later one has to listen to it, and the sooner one listens, the better, because one never knows when life will be finished. Any moment it may be. If a man becomes  committed and interested in religion when he is young, then there is a possibility that he finds the real home. Meditation is the process to find our real home.”

“To be happy needs a strong spirit. It needs no courage to be miserable. That is why millions of people are miserable. The society  consists  of miserable people. The society wants people to be misrable, beacuse then they are easy to manipulate, control and exploit. But to be happy one really needs a strong spirit. You need a strong spirit for two reasons: he first reason is that the whole of humanity is accustomed to living in misery  and the second reason is that you have to go against the accustomed misery of humanity.  It means that you have to leave the collective unconscious. You have to leave the unconscious crowd, the mob. There are many kinds of crowds: political, religious, cults, Socialist,  Communist,  Capitalist, Conservative, Fascist, Christian and Islamic. The miserable  person cannot be alone. He always wants to belong to a crowd.  The miserable person is like a sheep, who wants to belong to a herd. Sheps are always afraid to be alone. The happy person has to be like a lion. The first thing for being happ yis to learn to be alone. The first step is to drop the mass mind. The mob is the lowest possibility of humanity. Whenever you want to be alone and you want to leave the collective unconscious, when you want to leave the mob, the mob will try to hinder you. The mob will create every hindrance. The mob becomes afraid , because if one person leaves the mob, then other people may also try to leave the mob. The crowd do not want to lose its power, because the crowd consists of the politicians, the priests, the establishment, the status quo, the media and the rich, and they all depend on the mob psychology. The happy person is a danger to all of them. So this is why a strong spirit is needed to go against the mob psychology to be happy.”

“Man can either exist as an island isolated from existence, thinking himself separate from existence, or man can live in harmony with existence. The first way is the way of the ego. It is like trying to swim upstream in opposition to the stream of life. You may succeed for a while, but sooner or later you will become tired and exhausted. The river is not fighting you. It is just your own idea of being separated that has created the whole problem. You tried to fight with life, and you got defeated. The river is not responsible. If you had taken a different approach to life, if you had accepted to go with the river of life, there would have been no fight, no struggle, no frustration and no defeat. You would not have felt that existence was against you. You would not have felt that existence is your enemy. Going with the river, floating with the river, you would have felt that the river was giving you strength. That is the way of the religious person. The first way, the way of the ego, is the way of the irreligious person. The second way, the way of the heart is to be in harmony with existence. And the moment that you let go and merge with existence, God becomes your strength. Then there is great rejoicement in your heart. Then each moment becomes a joy without any fight, without any struggle. That is the joy of being religious.”

“When you become one with God, when you exist in harmony with the whole, your life becomes a joy. The moment one becomes harmonious with God, one has found the divine within oneself. Jesus says: "I and my father in heaven is one." He is crucified because of this great statement, because the small minds cannot tolerate it. Truth have suffered much, because people are so mediocre. They cannot rise a little higher to see the truth. Before one can understand the truth, one need to go through a radical change. One needs eyes to see and ears to hear. One needs a new vision. Without God we are small and tiny, and we are struggling against a vast universe. The spiritual journey means to decide: from now on I will get more and more in tune with the whole. I will not try to remain separate from the whole. I will not try to be an isolated island. I will become one with the ocean.”

“It is through the grace of God that one is saved. The spiritual journey to God consists of three steps: let-go, grace and to become a servant of God. Unless God saves us there is no way to be saved. To understand that man is helpless is of great significance. The deliverance is through grace, not by our efforts. Our efforts will come out of ignorance. It is through the grace of  God that one is saved. All that is required on our part is to let-go and allow him to save us. But very few people allow God to save them. They resist, the fight and the struggle. Once you let-go and allow God to save you, you become a servant of God. Once you are saved you have to serve.”

“Around the center leader Muktesh Thomas Forsberg and Jivan Kavya Eva Wells at the Osho meditation Center in Stockholm have gathered people, who systematically have used their positions at the center for power abuses. By using lies and vicious gossip as a means of expressing aggressiveness  ,these people have systematically committed abuse of power and trying to dominate people. These people express envy, condemnation and domination through lies and gross slenderness. It is really the ego that wants to condemn and control.  But these women think that they are aware, but they are really just ignorant, which is the blindness of the ego. When I visited the center, which I had not visited for almost 15 years, I was met by the therapist Moa Bergmark, who told me: "You know that this is a dysfunctional group. But when I began to confront the lies and vicious rumors about me and the dysfunctional structure of the center, Moa Bergmark was suddenly very quiet. This made it obvious that Bergmark was actually a part of the collective unconscious of the dysfunctional group. When Teresa, the center leader who was appointed by Osho himself, invited me to work with therapy- and meditation courses together with her, I felt joy and support  from Teresa. But when Teresa left the center and Muktesh Thomas Forsberg became the center leader, the joy and support disappeared, and I felt that he was just trying to control me.Anutosh Malin William-Olsson, one of the current gossip mongers at the Osho center in Stockholm heard a private conversation between me and my friend Eric Rolf, former consultant to John Lennon, during the eighties, which she had nothing to do with and which she did not understand, but she used this  to spread a lie and a gross negative slender negative rumors about me. Pradeepa Eva Tallqvist, one of the other gossip mongers said: "Giten has suchan integrity" and I thought: "Do these people have any integrity at all." Anubhuti Cecelia Lind commented on two of my students by saying in a  negative way: "Here come the disciples of Giten." Premleena Lena Wettergran told Vanya Pernilla Mårtens that she had done a course with me and said: "It is good that we have someone like Giten in Sweden", which Vanya also turned into something negative and said that I was nothing compared to the visiting therapists. It was Premleena who told me this, but when Premleena got entangled in the involved the dysfunctional structure and the collective unconscious of the center she did not even say hello to me any longer. The center leader Muktesh also joined in with the old woman and confirmed the gross and negative slender by saying: "Giten is so stubborn." My former girlfriend Marga told me that Anna Ganga Hoffman was spreading lies and gross slenderabout me at the Osho center in Stockholm. Marga had been sitting together with Hoffman and the other gossip mongers at the center, and when Hoffman realized that Marga was sitting there, she wanted Marga to confirm  her lies. Marga knew that these were just vicious lies, but she remained quiet because she did not have the courage to confront Hoffman and the gossip mongers at the Osho center in Stockholm  about their sick lies and gross slender. Prem Pathik in Nepal commented: "This must be a few people, who are really not living their lives as they like. These women who are searching  for a deeper space can never know you." It was also these people that my friend, Eric Rolf ,former consultant to John Lennon, met at the Osho center  in Stockholm, and she commented:  "I have been around, but these people just wanted to  control me. I did not enjoy it so much." I wrote a letter to Osho himself about the situation and the reply I receivws was: "humor is the highest state of consciousness.”
