Famous Swami Dhyan Giten Quotes

“Religions all over the world have for centuries been telling people to serve humanity, ut this has not produced any effect, On the contrary, it has created hypocrites. People who are not blissful are unable to help anybody. You can only give light to others if you have the light in the first place. What has been happening is that blind people lead other blind people. This is a dangerous game, because if the blind person knows that he has nobody guiding him, then he tries to be aware and find his own way. He remains aware, careful and cautious. But if he finds somebody to lead him and guide him, then he need not be so alert. But if he is completely unaware that the guide is also blind, then there is more danger than before, and he will not live cautiously. He will think that somebody is there to take responsibility, so now he need not be alert. It is because of this situation - blind people leading other blind people - that the whole of humanity has almost become a madhouse. Life has almost become intolerable. And the people that have taught service to humanity have only hindered the growth of people. People start serving others, without knowing whether they are capable of helping others. The desire to guide others is there in anybody, because it is very ego-gratifying. That is why everybody is ready to give advice whether you ask for it or not. Only the people who are blissful can be helpers. Unless a man is conscious it is possible for him to guide anybody. One can help others only if one has first helped yourself. It begins from your very being, from your innermost core. There has been enough of the kind of help, which has done enough harm. The first step is to help yourself. If you can attain to light, to bliss and to an experience of godliness, then you are bound to help others. Then there is no need to say something about it. It will happen by itself, because your bliss, love, silence, light and truth will start overflowing. And only the joyful person can be helpful, the miserable person can only do harm. The most basic thing is to become blissful. You can only share what you have. A man who has learned to love himself will be able to love others. A man who has become blissful will be able to spread his bliss. One always gives whatsoever one has. One radiates it. It starts to radiate and to function on its own accord. It is a magic, which works on its own.”

“Meditation means awareness. Except for meditation, nothing makes a person find his inner being, it changes a person. If meditation is progressing, then the only criteria of its progress are love, the only criteria for its progress is compassion. A man of compassion always thinks about you, about your needs. Love always thinks of the other, the ego only thinks of oneself. Love is always considerate, the ego is absolutely inconsiderate. The ego has only one language and that is of the self. The ego always uses the other; love is always ready to serve.”

“Meditation opens your inner consciousness like the sun opens the flowers. The presence of the sun functions like a catalytic agent. The same process happens in meditation. Meditation creates an inner warmth. The non-meditative person is cold inside. He has no heart. He is just mind. The meditative person's energy starts moving from the head to the heart . The heart starts becoming warmer, and in that warmth your being opens up like a flower. In that opening of your being, one feels like coming home.”

“Man ordinarily lives in a state of unconsciousness. Man lives almost in a kind of sleep. Only in a minimal way he is awake. Only in an emergency does he suddenly become alert. Suddenly you will see a change and a alertness in him, which was not there a moment ago. Suddenly all your thinking disappears, all your dreaming disappears and all the fantasies that continuously goes on has stopped. For a moment the mind stops, there is a blank and in that intervall you are alert. Ordinarily it seems that a person can only attain to a few second of awareness in his whole life. People live like robots, machines. People go on doing things effectively and mechanically, but that does not prove that we are conscious. The ordinary man, the mob, the crowd, is unconscious and mechanical. The society wants people who are unconscious and mechanical, because they are easy to manipulate, control and exploit. It is only through consciousness that you can go beyond this mechanicalness. The spiritual journey means that you are given a new dimension, the spiritual dimension. The whole work of the spiritual journey is to bring you some consciousness of your self, of your being. It is an effort to make you conscious,to help you to rise above your biology, unconsciousness and mechanicalness. Very few people have attained to their spiritual selves. Most peoplel ive on the biological level, and they die on the biological level. Everybody has the potential, but most people do not work on it, so it remains a lost potential., The potential has to become actual. So make an effort to make your life concentrated effort to become more and more conscious. And as glimpses of consciousness start arising in you, you will be surprised that bliss will follow each moment of consciousness. As consciousness deepens, bliss deepends. Bliss is the consequence of being conscious.”

“The definition of meditation is to learn to live in freedom. Meditation means to break all chains and destroy all walls that surround you. Meditation is to come out of the prison of the mind into the open sky of the heart. The heart is capable of knowing freedom. To be free one has to move from the mind to the heart. Living in the heart you learn the ABC of freedom. You go beyond the boundaries step by step, and you taste the beauty of freedom.”

“The first time that Padma, Giten's beloved friend for many lives, attended satsang with Giten, she did not really know how deep the satsang was going. After the satsang she exclaimed astonished: "Did you feel the timelessness, the eternal?" She had gone so deep that it is possible in the inner being, which is the dimension of the timeless, of the eternal. Padma described her experience of satsang with Giten: “I love satsang with Giten. Satsang with Giten is heaven. Satsang with Giten is like coming home. I went into samadhi three times during a satsang weekend with Giten - and I also got a map and an understanding for how to go into samadhi again. I was so scared that I would lose the stillness that I found in satsang in India, but I found the stillness again in satsang with Giten. Previously, I did not think that enlightenment was possible, but now I think it is possible.” The essence of satsang is meditation. Meditation is the art of discovering the light within. Meditation is the art of discovering your own soul. It is only through meditation that we can discover the light within. Otherwise man lives in darkness. Meditation enkindles something that is already latent in all of us, but which needs to be discovered. Normally we are only looking outwards. We never look within ourselves, so our back is turned at our inner source of light. It is being ignored and neglected, and the only ignorance is to ignore our inner being, our source of light within. To know the inner being is the only knowledge. All other knowledge is worthless. It may help you in the world, but it can't help you in eternity. Life is such a small and fast disappearing phenomenon. The real life is something totally different. Seventy or eighty years are nothing compared to eternity. To pay too much attention to this life, and ignoring the inner life is just stupid. But that is what the majority of people are doing, which is why the world is full of stupidity, darkness, ignorance, violence, unconsciousness, misery and suffering. The moment we turn our attention within ourselves, it enkindles a light within. Turning our attention within enkindles a light inside, which knows no end. Once it is enkindled, it starts to spread. First it fills you, then it starts spreading outside you, and ultimately it fills the whole universe. Those who attains to that state, where the inner light becomes as vast as the universe has become an enlightened one, an awakened one, a Buddha, a Christ.”

“Intuition is the art of the moment. Intuition is always in the moment, in the here and now. While the intellect always moves like the pendulum of a clock between the memories of the past and the fantasies of the future, intuition is always in the moment, always in the here and now. The more we develop our inner being, the inner source of love and truth, the inner quality of being here and now, the more we also have access to our intuition.”

“Life is a ladder from the lowest to the highest. The majority of people live at the lowest rung, where we find ourselves at the time of birth. Many people think that just to be born is enough, so we go on living at the lowest rang for the whole of our life. Birth is just the beginning of a long journey, but the majority of people die at the same spot where they were born. They have not moved a single inch. They have just vegetated between birth and death. Their life energy has remained on the same plane.  It has not developed, it has not gone upwards. They are too occupied with their own small things, so they have no time to look upwards. Life really begins only when you start moving on the higher rungs of the ladder of life. Meditation is the only way to help you to move from the lower to the higher rungs of the ladder of life. Meditation means awareness. When you become aware of the body, you move beyond the body. Awareness means transcendence. When you become  aware  of the mind, you you have gone beyond the mind. And the moment that you have become aware of the heart. you have moved beyond the heart. The body, the mind and the heart are the most fundamental planes to become aware about.  When you have moved beyond these three planes, you have come to your real self. And only then does one know what life is all about. Then one comes to know the truth of life. One comes to know that meaning of life and the greatness of life.”

“The love that we know is momentary. One day it is there, the next day it is gone. The momentariness shows that it is not real love. It can be many things, but it is not real love. It can be sex, a psychological need, the fear of being alone, an effort to remain occupied with another person or the need to fill one's loneliness and emptiness. If it is real love, the most essential quality would be that it is everlasting. Once you have tasted eternal love, timeless love, it ill transform you. Then you are no more part of the mundane world. You have entered into the sacred world. You go on living in the same ordinary world, but you become more ordinary than before. You lose all pretensions. You forget about being somebody. You become utterly ordinary. In that ordinariness, there is a silence, a grace and a beauty. You become full of light, because you are full of love. you are always ready to share with others, because you have found an inexhaustible inner source. This love has nothing to do with relationships. The love that is eternal relates, but it never creates relationships. It relates with the trees, with the wind, with the animals, with the people, with the earth and with the sun. Relating is like a flowing river, while relationships are something stagnant, which has stopped growing. And when something has stopped growing, you start feeling bored, because you start losing contact with life. Life is always like a river, but you are tethered to something: a wife, a husband, a relationship. Man's greatest joy is to be free. And a relationship is creating a situation in which that freedom is lost. A being is alive when it is becoming. Being is becoming. If you stop becoming, your being becomes like a rock. You have to know the difference between relating and relationships. This is true about both life and love. Never lose your freedom. And never destroy anybody else's freedom. A real religious person remains free, and he helps people who come to him, to be free. He never possesses anybody, and he never allows anybody else to possess him. Then life becomes a constant growth, which goes higher and higher.”

“Life is an opportunity. Rarely do we see that life is a gift and an opportunity to grow, to be. Even misery is an opportunity, because it is out of misery that the desire for joy arises. it is only out of darkness that the desire for light arises. Life means all that it contains: joy and sadness, love and aloneness, good and bad, positive and negative experience and success and failure. All is God's gracious gifts. Meditation means to recognize that all has been given to you as a gift and an opportunity  to grow. We have not earned it, and we are not grateful for the beauty of existence. Meditation is to learn to be thankful to existence. Gratefulness will make you come closer to God.”

“If you love, the whole existence becomes beautiful. Love makes everything beautiful. If you love all is beautiful, but if you don't love nothing is beautiful. Learning to love is the only magic in life. Learning to love opens all the mysteries of existence. One who settles for a unloveable life says "no" to life, which creates a lonely, dark and miserable life. One who learns to love says "yes" to life. he learns to love life and to experience life fully. He opens his doors to life, while somebody who says "no" closes his doors to life. Learning to love life is the way to know God.”

“RELATIONSHIPS & THE INNER BEING The other is a mirror of our own face; the other is a mirror of our inner being. The entire universe is a manifestation of our own inner being. Man is the microcosm and the universe is the macrocosm. In our inner being, we are one with all. True relationships is to see ourselves in all beings and to see all beings in ourselves. The inner being is not only present in human beings, but it is also present in flowers, trees, animals, stones and the stars. The divine exists everywhere in nature. Once we realize this we will never feel alone. We find the communion of the heart everywhere.”

“Buddha says: Love yourself. To love yourself is to get rid of self-condemnation and thinking that you are not worthy or loved by existence. Love yourself, says Buddha, but love begins with yourself and then it goes on spreading. Love yourself; says Buddha, and then adds and Watch. This is meditation, but the first requirement is to love yourself. A person who loves himself can easily become meditative, because meditation means to love yourself and to be with yourself. meditation is to enjoy yourself in your beautiful aloneness. Celebrating yourself is what meditation is all about. To be is the greatest miracle and meditation opens the door to this great miracle. But only a man who loves himself can meditate. Unless you love yourself, you cannot be with yourself. Create a loving climate and atmosphere around yourself. Love your body and love your mind. By loving yourself, you will destroy the self-condemnation that society has implanted within you.”

“Ordinary love is demand and expectations, real love is sharing. Real love knows nothing of demands and expectations; real love is the joy of sharing. Love knows only giving and never asks for anything in return. Ordinary love is greed hoarding. Greed only wants and never gives. Ordinary love pretends, real love is real and authentic. Real love is nourishment, it strengthens your soul. Ordinary love strengthens your ego. Ordinary love is conditional love, real love is unconditional love.”

“We are all ancient people in the world. We have always been here and we will always be here. We existed before death and we will exist after death. Birth and death are small events in the eternal life. This insight happens only through meditation. If you remain identified with the body and the mind, then birth and death becomes the limits of your life. When you realize that you are not the body and the mind, you see that birth is not the beginning and death is not the end.  You are beginningless, endless. This insight makes you realize the world of eternity. And the deepest thirst and longing of man is to become eternal, to go beyond death and become deathless. Meditation belongs beyond birth and death. The real seeker of truth always searches for the eternal, the deathless. The worldly and mundane people searches for power, money, positions and possessions, which death will always take away from them. Only meditation cannot be taken away from you.  To find meditation is to have found the eternal, the deathless and the bottom of existence.”

“One should not waste life. Life is a great possibility to be, to grow, and one should not just vegetate and be lethargic. We have got life without paying for it, which is why we think life is valueless. One goes on living life like we can simply waste it. We waste life by putting our attention on the trivial things: money, power, position, status, greed and prestige, but we never think about life and it's infinite value. Everything else is just trivial in comparison to life.”

“The mind is doubt. Doubt leaves you tired and exhausted. That is why so many people in the world look so sad and serious. Existence is not serious. Look at the trees, the birds, the flowers, the animals, the rivers and the stars. The whole existence is joy and celebration, except for man because only man has the freedom to choose between living in the mind or living in the heart. And man has chosen to live in the mind, because the mind helps in the world to have money, power, position and possessions. But it destroys everything that is really worth having in life. We have to choose the heart. Once we have chosen the heart, trust, silence, truth, friendship, trust, compassion, creativity and freedom starts flowering. And just as you bring light into a dark room and the darkness disappears, the same happens with the heart. Suddenly your life is full of life, light, joy and truth. And then all doubts disappear. The heart never doubts, the heart simply knows. God is self-evident for the heart. The heart has its own approach towards reality. The heart has a direct, immediate connection with reality, with God. Be in the heart, live through the heart. Nourish the dimension of the heart.”

“There are two kinds of people in the world.  The first kind is the creative and conscious people and the second kind is the destructive and unconscious. Great awareness is needed to be creative and conscious, while no awareness and consciousness is needed to be destructive. The creative people have attained inner awareness. The other kind of people are the violent and destructive people, who are the unhealthy, narcissistic and pathological people. These are the people who bring misery and human suffering to the world. They themselves are miserable and they create misery for others. Alexander the Great killed thousands of people, Joseph Stalin killed millions of people and Adolf Hitler is one of the greatest murders history has known.  The world would have been better without them. The creative and conscious people are a blessing to the world. Without them humanity would not have progressed at all. These people are the salt of the earth. Life has some meaning, joy, beauty and song, because of these people. People like Buddha, Jesus and Lao Tzu made themselves blissful, and spread the secret of being blissful in the world. They spread their light in the world. Meditation is the way to become blissful. Become blissful, because you can only give that which you have. You cannot give that which you do not have. Become a source of bliss and blessings to others.”

“The natural tendency of man is war. The world is dominated by patriarchy, capitalism and war. Man hankers for any excuse to fight, to destroy and to be destructive. If he cannot find a real excuse, he will invent an excuse, because he cannot live without war. In modern times, there has been a war every 5-10 years. And what has man achieved? What has man achieved through all this violence, bloodshed and destructivity? The whole past of man has been pathological, and the reason is that we go on listening to the mind. The mind has grown out of man's animal heritage. Man is part of evolution. Man may be the highest animal, but he is still an animal. And through the evolution, the mind has become conditioned to function in a particular way. The mind knows only how to fight. The mind knows only the way of violence. Unless man learns how to go beyond the mind, he will never become truly human. Then he will remain an animal. To be truly human, man has to stop the way of fight, violence, destructivity and war. He has to move beyond the animal in him, and for the first time reach for the human. The human has tremendous potential for love, joy, silence, intelligence and beauty, The human is also the beginning of the divine. But the first step is to get rid of the animal heritage.”

“Society may talk about love, but it prepares for hate. Society only talks about love, but it is very cunning and hypocritical. Society is full of hatred. Love is a rebellion against these stupid, cunning and unconscious structures. This whole structure of the state, the establishment, the status quo, the politicians, the church, the priests, the vested interests and the media is simply stupid, but because it has existed for thousands of years we take it for granted. We think it is the only possibility. This structure has made humanity live on a survival level. It has made humanity live on a very low level of consciousness. Even if we have become accustomed to it, it is not the only possibility. Man can live in a totally new way, without wars, hatred, conflicts, violence, without killing each other and without murder. There is no need for all this. Love is overflowing. Love needs a new level of consciousness. Love needs a new climate and atmosphere. One can exist without love, but one only exists, one does not live with joy. Mere existence and survival is not life. People are only existing and vegetating. But there is no joy and grandeur in life. One has to rebel against the stupid structures that is being taught by the universities, by the society, by the politicians, by the churches, by the vested interests and the media. Rebellion means to drop the whole past, and to live in the present without the stupid system. Then we will have a beautiful life full of joy, happiness, truth, freedom and beauty.”

“A man can live life either out of an attitude of yes to life or out of an attitude of no to life. If you live life out of an attitude of no, you become a warrior. You are constantly fighting with life. Then life is just a struggle, a fight and a war, and you are constantly fighting with everybody else. You are fighting a losing war, because you are bound to lose. One cannot win against the whole. The whole idea is stupid, because the whole is larger than you. But the struggle, the fighting and the constant war appeals to the ego, because saying no is nourishment for the ego. Struggle and fighting strengthens the ego. The ego always wants to say no. A meditator is not a warrior. He is not fighting with anybody. A meditator becomes a meditator by dropping all fights. He is in love with the whole existence. There is no need to fight. Love wants to say yes. Yes is nourishment for life. Love and ego are polar opposite. If you say no to strengthen the ego, the less is the possibilility for love. And without love, there is no joy in life. Without love, there is no music in life. Without love, life is an empty desert. One can fight as much as you want, but it becomes self-destructive. Yes is creativity. Yes means surrender to life. If no means struggle and war, love means surrender to the whole. Love means trusting the whole. Love means trusting that the whole takes care. All that is needed is a trusting heart. Learn to say yes, learn to be yes, and you will be surprised: life starts growing with such beauty that one cannot imagine it. Life becomes a joy. All that is needed on your part is to open your heart in a ye sto life. Say yes to the sun, to the wind, to animals, to people, to the rain and to the whole.”

“Politics is a game of power. The politician and the soldier is interested in conquering the world and achieve world dominion and the meditator is interested  in onquering himself. To conquer somebody else is to destroy, to reduce the other to a thing. The effort to conquer somebody else is inhuman. The real victory is alwaysinner. It is a victory over yourself. The politician and the soldier fight with others, the meditator has nofight with anybody in the world. He has dropped all conflicts, all struggle. He does not think in terms of war. He is at peace with existence. He has surrendered to existence, hence there is no question of war. But in that surrender, he becomes a conqueror, because he becomes a vehicle of the whole. He is no more apart, he is no more separate from the whole.  He is no more small and confined. He has become one with the whole.”

“Love is the rock on which the temple of love can be built. Without love our house is built on shifting sand. Then you don't have a solid foundation for your life. When you make your life rooted in love, it will never collapse. Love is the only experience that defies death. Love is the only experience that knows no death. A man or woman of love are unafraid of death, because love knows something of immortal existence. A moment of love is a taste of the eternal. It is to know that there is something within, which is going to persist. No death can destroy it. There is no possibility of it being erased from existence. You simply know that it is so. The people who make their houses without the foundation of love, live empty lives. Life go on slipping out of their hands, and sooner or later death knocks on their door. They will not know what to do, because they will not know that something in them is going to survive, so there is no need to fear. Love makes one fearless. It means that you have known something of the deathless and immortal.”

“The search för love, joy, silence, truth, freedom or God is really a search for a union with the whole. We are brought up by a society, civilization and religion in such a way that we are given a false identity. We are all deceived by powerful people, who depend on lying and cheating. They have been cheating for centuries to be able to accumulate money and power, and they are afraid of allowing anybody to discover the truth. The whole business of the politicians, the priests, the establishment, the status quo, the vested interests, the education system, the media and the rich depend on people who are gullible and ready to be deceived. From the very childhood these people creates such situations that the child becomes aware that if he wants to survive in the world he has to compromise his truth. If the child says the truth he will be getting into trouble. By the time he is strong enough to be truthful hehas lost all sense of truth. The lies have gone so deep in him that they have become unconscious, so that it has become almost impossible to get rid of them. That is the whole process of a man searching for truth: to undo what the society has done to him. You have to be reborn, and you will have to become aware that the ego is a false identity imposed on you. You are not separate at all from the whole. You are part of the organic whole. And to know it brings great joy, because when you are not a separate entity, then how can anxiety and anguish exist? Then life becomes a joy. Then there is freedom without any fear.”

“Society creates all kinds of conditioning and hindrances for us to reach our true nature. Society does not allow us to be ourselves. Society is dampening all our attempts to be happy. The whole effort and conditioning of culture, politics, religion, education, media and civilization is not to allow you to be your own natural self, not to allow you to be happy. This is done for the simple reason that the person who can be himself and who can be happy cannot be manipulated. if people are to be manipulated - politically, socially and religiously - then their trust to be themselves has to be destroyed. We have not yet been able to create a natural and life-affirmative culture. So the individual has to make every effort to be himself and to be happy for himself, so that others also can be allowed to be who they are and to be happy. The first concern is our own being, our own consciousness, our true self, and everything else is secondary. The first concern is not society, the church, the world and to fight for your country. The first responsibility is to discover our innermost being, our true self. Once it is discovered everything else becomes easy, and it happens on its own accord. Then love, silence, joy, truth, compasion, freedom, creativity and grace flows. They are by-products of consciousness.”

“The conditioning of society is to destroy your capacity to be aware, to be conscious, to feel and to see. Then people can accept any kind of state in society. Just to survive they accept all kinds of humiliations. They are ready to live on a survival level. They are ready to live on a very low level of consciousness. Many people are existing below the human level. A person who is aware, conscious, who feel and see will rebel wherever he sees anything unjust and inhuman. He will not tolerate it. There is so much injustice everywhere. To protect this injustice and all the political and economical investments that depends on it, society starts from the beginning to socialize and conform the child to live only on a minimum level. This guarantees that the control and exploitation of society continues. The state, the politicians, the pedagogues, the priests, the media and the rich, they all control, manipulate and exploit people. The conditioning of societyis to make people unaware, unconscious and dull, because to allow people to be aware and conscious are dangerous to society. The whole society basically functions against making people aware and conscious. Meditation is the way to learn to be aware, awake, conscious, watchful and available, which is why society basically is against meditation. Meditation makes you aware enough to find love. Meditation makes you aware enough to rebel wherever there is anything injust and inhuman. Meditation makes you aware and conscious enough to go against the unconscious mob psychology, which functions from the lowest state of consciousness.”

“We are born free, but we are not allowed to live in freedom by the society. Everybody is born in freedom, but everybody lives in a prison. Everybody lives as a prisoner and dies as a prisoner. The most spiritual act in life is to live in freedom. Meditation is the way to regain your freedom. Meditation is the way to destroy all the barriers and bondages that have been created by the society, the state, the establishment, the status quo and the church. The society do not want you to live in freedom, because a free person cannot be controlled, manipulated and exploited. A free person cannot be reduced to a thing, a possession. The society do not believe in man, the society believes in machines, because machines are obedient and do not rebel. Man can rebel, which is why each child is chained in such a way that very few people are able to live a life of freedom. Meditation is a declaration of freedom. A meditator has to be alert, aware, adventurous and courageous to live in freedom. A meditator's search is for freedom, and when he is totally free he knows God.”

“The moment truth is organized it becomes a lie. Jesus and Buddha never created any organized religion. An organized religion becomes politics. It becomes a manipulation, control and exploitation by the priests. You don't have to be Christians or Buddhists, because your own potential is to be a buddha. Buddha taught you to become a buddha. The people who were with Buddha were not part of any organized religion. They were free and independent individuals. Buddha did not want to be anybody's guru, he simply wanted to be a friend, a fellow traveler on the spiritual path. He wanted to create as many individuals in the world with absolute freedom in their soul with no chains to Christianity or Buddhism and with no scriptures, no teachings, except for awareness. He taught spirituality, not religion. Spirituality is not a membership of any church or cult, but a quality that transforms your being and makes your inner potential blossom. Buddha was available to help his people to become buddhas. He wanted a world of buddhas, who were free from organized religions and cults, and who would find their own wings to fly in the sky. Truth brings freedom, freedom from religions, cults and scriptures. Truth brings a silence, a peace and a sense of eternity, and immortality and deathlessness. But it has nothing to do with organized religion and cults.”

“When we embrace the opposites within ourselves and understand that inner harmony arises when they mature, we find the love, joy, silence and freedom that are hidden in every moment. It is my experience that it is through the inner female side that we find the depth within ourselves – independent of if we are a man or a woman. It is through the female side that we find the inner source of love and truth. It is through the female side that we lit the light of our own consciousness. The more we learn to know the inner man and woman and the more we accept their different visions of life, the more a meeting happens between them that makes us happy and satisfied. Through embracing both these sides in ourselves, we realize that we really lack nothing – but that we already are love. When both the male and female side is capable of living in trust, a love begins to flow between them – a love that was always possible, but not realized. The inner woman is the meditative quality within ourselves. The inner woman is the source of love and truth. The inner woman is the capacity to surrender to life. It is through the inner woman that we are in contact with life. It is the inner woman that is the door to belongingness with the Whole.”

“Love is one of the most divine qualities. One can enter into God from many doors, and love is one of the most beautiful doors to enter into God. Love is the most beautiful path towards God, but one has to go on purifying the path of love. The ordinary love is full of jealousy, anger, hatred, possessiveness, ego and domination. These are the parasites of love, which have to be removed so that love becomes purer, alive and intense. First love is a relationship with another person and then love becomes a friendship. Then love becomes only a loving quality of our heart, and ultimately love becomes love itself. We become love. That is divine love. The path of love ultimately leads to God.”

“MEDITATION & DEVOTION Most of our life issues and psychological problems occur from a lack of love and devotion. We are searching for love outside of ourselves. We are seeking to be loved, rather than to give love. A criteria of spiritual maturity is when we begin to give love, rather than to ask for love. Through developing love and devotion, we learn to love all beings. We develop our inner being, the meditative quality within, the inner source of love and truth, the divine source inside ourselves, through which we can let love flow through us, not only to benefit ourselves, but for the good of all.”

“Everybody is unique. There has never been a person like you, and there will never be a person like you. God pays his respect to the unique, to the individual. But society does not give any respect to the individual. Society teaches you not to be yourself. Society teaches you to be somebody else. The meditator has to learn to just be yourself. To accept yourself as you are is the first step in spiritual growth. To love yourself is the first step in loving God. Love and respect yourself and you will be surprised how much growth starts happening on its own. It is like rocks have been removed and the river has started flowing.”

“Jesus was a man of love, of immense compassion. He loved this earth, the people, the threes, because that is the way to love God. God is life. Jesus is very life-affirmative. He says total yes to life. When you look into the eyes of each being that you meet, you meet God. Everybody is an incarnation of God - the threes, the flowers, the rocks, the animals, the people and the mountains. Love the people, love the threes, love the animals - and through the love you meet God. All are brothers here, because God is one. The threes, the flowers, the birds and the rocks are all your brothers, because they all come from the one source. if you are not reconciled with the world, you cannot pray to God. Prayer is only possible when you are in harmony with existence. The whole existence is your brother. The first step for prayer is to be reconciled with your brother. And your brother means all beings. Jesus is a celebration of being, a celebration of life. If you deny life, you deny God. If you say no to life, you say no to God, because God is life. To understand Jesus, you have to understand that life is God. If you say yes to life, you will feel a prayer arising in your heart, a yes arising in your being. The ego is a no to life, the ego is a separation from life. The inner being is a yes to life. The inner being is a deep yes and acceptance of life. Saying yes bridges you with the whole. It makes you a part of the whole. Saying yes will make you more and more spiritual. Jesus whole message is yes. The word "amen" means yes. You will never meet God, you will meet human beings, animals, stones and threes. You can love God through other human beings, through threes, through stones and through animals. And when you have learnt to love God through all his forms - then only love changes into prayer.”

“Awareness is a choiceless consciousness. Awareness is the capacity to embrace, accept and include both joy and sadness, love and aloneness, light and darkness, male and female qualities and life and death. Through saying “yes” and accepting both tendencies and including whatever aspect that happens in the moment, we meet our unlimited and boundless inner being. The inner man and woman need to find their own independence and integrity.”

“I have always felt deep within myself that I do not trust that I am already OK as I am, and that I do not trust that life takes care of me. But now I discover a silent place in the depth of my inner being, where I am already one with life, where I am OK as I am. It is also a silent inner place of healing and wholeness, where I can find a love and acceptance for that which is imperfect within myself.”

“We have been taught that life is a fight and a struggle. We have been taught to fight, because of the the idea that man has to continuously fight for his survival. We have been taught to fight, because of the idea that man and nature are enemies. Nature is not our enemy. Nature is our home. The universe is not antagonosiotic to us. The universe means the earth, which the universe fills with flowers, trees, animals, people, rivers and mountains. The universe is supporting them. Why would the flowers, the trees and the rivers otherwise grow? Man is part of this existence. But the idea that we have to fight creates a separation between us and the whole. Man becomes an isolated island. Then we live in fear, anxiety and worry. So how can we be happy? Instead we feel alienated, alone and meaningless, because the whole seems to be a constant fight and struggle. For the person who have been fighting with existence, death seems to be the ultimate thing. But for the person who have surrendered to existence, who is in tune with existence, death is not the ultimate thing. Surrender means to let go of your ego, so for him there is no death. It is only the egothat dies, because the ego is a separation from the whole. Itis the ego that fights with the whole. Surrender means to drop all that is superficial and shallow. Surrender means to become egoless. Surrender means that our heart starts to beat in tune with the universal heart. Instead of being an isolated island, we become part of the whole continent. And then we live in love, joy, silence, trust, truth, freedom and the eternal. Suddenly we know the joy and beauty of surrender. Surrender means to yes to the whole.”

“Prayer and Meditation Matthew 14 AND HE WENT UP INTO THE MOUNTAIN APART TO PRAY This was always the practice of Jesus when he would move into the masses, the crowd, afterwards he would go alone into deep prayer and meditation. Why did he do this? If you have been meditating, you will understand. You will understand that once you start meditating, a very fragile and delicate quality of consciousness is born in you. A flower of the unknown, of the beyond, starts opening, which is delicate. And whenever you move into the crowd, you lose something. Whenever you come back from the crowd, you come back lesser than you had gone. Something has been lost, some contact has been lost. The crowd pulls you down, it has a gravitation of it's own. You may not feel it if you live on the same plane of consciousness. Then there is no problem, then you have nothing to lose. In fact, when you live in the crowd, on the same plane, alone you feel very uneasy. When you are with people, you feel good and happy. But alone, you feel sad, your aloneness is not aloneness. It is loneliness, you miss the other. You do not find yourself in the aloneness, you simply miss the other. When you are alone, you are not alone, beacuse you are not there. Only the desire to be with others is there - that is what loneliness is. Always remember the distinction between aloneness and loneliness. Aloneness is a peak experience - loneliness is a valley. Aloneness has light in it, loneliness is dark. Loneliness is when you desire others; aloneness is when you enjoy yourself. When Jesus would move into the masses, into the crowd, he would tell his disciples to got to the other shore of the lake, and he would move into total aloneness. Not even the disciples were allowed to be with him. This was a constant practice with him. Whenever you go into the crowd, you are infected by it. You need a higher altitude to purify yourself, you need to be alone so that you can become fresh again. You need to be alone with yourself, so that you become together again. You need to be alone, so that you become centered and rooted in yourself again. Whenever you move with others, they push you off centre. AND WHEN THE EVENING WAS COME, HE WAS THERE ALONE Nothing is said about his prayer in the Bible, just the word "prayer". Before God or before existence, you simply need to be vulnerable - that is prayer. You are no to say something. So when you go into prayer, don't start saying something. It will all be desires, demands and deep complaints to God. And prayer with complaints is no prayer, a prayer with deep gratitude is prayer. There is no need to say something, you can just be silent. Hence nothing is said about what Jesus did in his aloneness. It simply says "apart to pray". He went apart, he became alone. That is what prayer is, to be alone, where the other is not felt, where the other is not standing between you and existence. When God's breeze can pass througn you, unhindered. It is a cleansing experience. It revejunates your spirit. To be with God simply means to be alone. You can miss the point, if you start thinking about God, then you are not alone. If you start talking to God, then in imagination you have created the other. And then you God is a projection, it will be a projection of your father. A prayer is not to say something. It is to be silent, open, available. And there is no need to believe in God, because that too is a projection. The only need is to be alone, to be capable of being alone - and immediately you are with God. Whenever you are alone, you are with God.”

“I have always had the capacity to go within myself and to discover the silence within, the inner meditative quality, the inner source of love and truth – the inner language of silence. Now I also notice that this silence is going deeper, and that I go beyond the ego and disappear into the silence. First this brought up fear, but now I am enjoying this meditation of disappering into the silence and to be nobody. I have started experimenting with this phenomenon to understand how to consciously go beyond the ego: yesterday when I took a cofee at a restaurant, I consciously turned my attention within and disappeared into the silence, which was like finding an inner source of bliss. In aloneness, I experiment with being consciously alone as a door to be egoless. In conscious aloneness, the ego can not function. In aloneness, your are not. When I am walking, I consciously experiment with being with Existence without having the mind constantly commenting. I try to just be wordlessly with the people and situations that I meet on my walk. When I can just be with Existence, it opens the door to be one with the Whole.”

“What are the path of love and the path of meditation? There are basically two different paths to enlightenment. These two paths are The path of love and The path of meditation. The path of love is the female path to enlightenment and The path of meditation is the male path to enlightenment. The path of love is the path of love, joy, relationships, devotion and surrender. The path of meditation is the path of meditation, silence, aloneness and freedom. These two paths has different ways, but they have the same goal. Through love and surrender the person that walks The path of love discovers the inner silence. Through meditation and aloneness the person that walks The path of meditation discovers the inner source of love. These two paths are like climbing the mountain of enlightenment through different routes, but the two paths are meeting on the summit of the mountain - and discover an inner integration between love and meditation, between relating and aloneness. Before I accept to work with a student now, I make an intuitive and clairvoyant evaluation about which spiritual paths that the student has walked before in previous lives. This intuitive assessment gives information about the spiritual level that the student has attained, and it also makes it easier to guide the person spiritually if he has followed a certain path in the past. A female student of mine laughed recently when I told her that she had followed The path of love in several past lives. She commented: "You have told me three times now that I have walked the path of love and silence, but with my head I still do not understand it." But this overall assessment of her spiritual growth uptil now, and of the spiritual paths that she had walked, made all the pieces of her life puzzle fit together - and brought a new, creative light to all her life choices in her current life. A male student of mine, who was a Tibetan monk in a previous life, walks The path of meditation, and I notice how I change my language and the methods that I recommend when I guide him along the path of meditation. I now work with students who walk both The path of love and The path of meditation, which also allows me to discover a deeper integration of love and meditation on my path to enlightenment.”

“It is on the consciousness level of the heart that we begin to understand that we are not separated from life. We begin to understand that we are not small separate islands in a great ocean, but that life is one and that we all are small parts of the Whole. We begin to understand what is really important and meaningful in life. It is on the consciousness level of the heart that we begin to understand that life is about sharing, rather than hoarding. We begin to understand that life is about giving, rather than taking. Above the consciousness level of the heart, we need a teacher and a guide. It is somebody who “knows”, who has walked further on the path than us and who can guide, encourage and inspire us. There is an Indian saying: “When the disciple is ready, the teacher occurs.”
