Queen Noor of Jordan (born Lisa Najeeb Halaby on August 23, 1951) is an American-born Jordanian queen consort who married King Hussein of Jordan in 1978. After converting to Islam, she became known as Noor Al-Hussein. She is renowned for her humanitarian work in women's rights, child welfare, and environmental conservation. She founded the Noor Al Hussein Foundation in 1979, which has become one of Jordan's largest non-governmental organizations. As a UN Goodwill Ambassador, she has advocated for women and children across the Arab world.
