Meditation Quotes Quotes

“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle. Your potential is limitless, and the only thing holding you back is your own belief in your abilities. Breathe, deeply, and allow your true potential to awaken, exhale deeply and let your breath guide you towards a life of meaning and fulfillment, a life you deserve.”

“Morning Meditation I used to rise early in meditation, As the ancient saints and mystics, Looking for peace, bliss, and ecstasy. Now I awake as the sun rises. I lie beside her, Her head and the tops of her shoulders Revealed from the top of the covers Where we lay. Her face shines, As the sun rolls through the bedroom Curtains and leave her with a mandorla As if she were the subject of iconography. I lay in silence as I meditate on the artistry Of freckles that are perfectly dotted On her face and shoulders. I venerate the delicate curvature Of her lips and nose. Her eyes closed, Veiled by a composition of lashes That shroud the green mystery underneath. As her hair lays dark and graceful Across the pillows in front of me, I lay in adoration, and know there are none like her. Moses was not even shown God's face, Yet she has done me one better.”

“Contemplation cultivates an inner connection, an awareness of yourself. I don’t mean your emotional self; I mean the part of you hidden beneath your emotional baggage—your soul’s consciousness.”

“If you were to look at human skin under an electron microscope, you would not be able to tell where the human being begins and ends. There is no fine barrier between the person and the universe. There is just a flow from one thing to the next and the only reason we perceive separateness is because of the limitations of our senses. Human beings can only see .0001 % of the spectrum of light and we can only hear .0001 % of the spectrum of sound. If we could see infrared, and if we could see ultraviolet and x-rays, and energy, and hear the whole spectrum of sounds, the universe would appear very differently, there would be no empty space. It would be so full we would just see this sea of energy and there would only be oneness. There is no separate you. No separateness. There's a deep interconnectedness. There's only oneness.”

“When you always treat everyone with love and compassion, there’s no reason to worry what others think about you. There’s no reason to doubt or second guess yourself. There's no reason to ever feel regret or shame. You don’t have to give your time and attention to people who don’t appreciate you, but no matter what circumstance you find yourself in, you can always feel confident and at peace knowing you treated others with kindness and grace.”

“Cherishing yourself leads to misfortune. Cherishing others leads to good fortune. We are social animals. Like all social animals, a person who is selfish will not attract others, but a person who helps others will invite the kindness and company of others.”

“It is possible to sit still and watch your thoughts arise and then, without grabbing them, watch them disappear. This is the practice of meditation and mindfulness, a practice that you learn to carry with you. The goal isn’t to stop thoughts. Instead, the goal is the practice of seeing them clearly as they come into view and then letting them go. If you can notice anger or anxiety arising at the ground level, in its first inception, then you can easily watch it dissolve. In these instances, it is present sight, not hindsight, that is 20/20.”

“Imagine yourself having a fight with your romantic partner. The tension of the situation makes your limbic system run at full throttle and you become flooded with stress hormones like cortisol and adrenalin. The high levels of these chemicals suddenly make you so damn angry, that you burst out in front of your partner saying, “I wish you die, so that I can have some peace in my life”. Given the stress of the situation through highly active limbic system, your PFC loses its freedom to take the right decision and you burst out with foul language in front of your partner, that may ruin your relationship. In simple terms due to your mental instability, you lost your free will to make the right decision. But when the conversation is over, and you relax for a while, your stress hormone levels come down to normal, and you regain your usual cheerful state of mind. Immediately, your PFC starts analyzing the explosive conversation you had with your partner. Healthy activity of the entire frontal lobes, especially the PFC suddenly overwhelms you with a feeling of guilt. Your brain makes you realize, that you have done something devilish. As a result, now you find yourself making the willful decision of apologizing to your partner and making up to him or her, no matter how much effort it takes, because your PFC comes up the solution that it is the healthiest thing to do for your personal life. From this you can see, that what you call free will is something that is not consistent. It changes based on your mental health. Mental instability or illness, truly cripples your free will. And the healthier your frontal lobes are, the better you can take good decisions. And the most effective way to keep your frontal lobes healthy is to practice some kind of meditation.”

“My friend, you don’t need to become a monk or sell your Ferrari to get the benefits of meditation. It’s not about living a spiritual life. It’s about living a great life. It’s about rising above that which is unimportant and living in a space of control. Meditation is not about becoming a person who wants and owns nothing. It’s about becoming a person who doesn’t get owned by anything.”

“You’ve been strong for so long, holding it all together like a superhero. But even superheroes need a nap! Let your soul take a breather and heal up before jumping back into the fray. Remember, you’re built tough, but you’re also allowed to kick back and recharge. You’ve got this—you’ll get through it. Just don’t forget to give yourself a break along the way. Rest up, regroup, and then get back to kicking life’s challenges to the curb.”

“Island mindfulness is the awareness that each of us is a small but significant voice in the world and that the world needs us to have the peace of mind to live and love harmoniously. Although we may be surrounded by water (literally or figuratively), the mind has the ability to ride the waves of life and find calm in the midst of all the sun, wind, and rain that will touch our lives. By focusing on mindful living and being, the mind, heart, and soul can be Irie (at peace).”

“Life: Life is a human experience until death. Death: Death is a part of life until entering the light. Light: Light is your connection to source. Source: Source is all life. The only question is; why are you here?”
