“Fasting and feasting all turn mere futile choir, If, for whatever reason, life is distant from life. Celebration of Ramadan is celebration of rahmat*, Ramadan without *compassion is Ramadan without life. Ramadan is not a muslim festival, Ramadan is a human festival. Ramadan is a reminder to rekindle our light, Ramadan is the end of all feelings uncharitable.”

“The Religion Engine (Sonnet 2597) Go to any church, any mosque, any temple, and one thing you're sure to find is, not God, but people. And that has always been the real point of religion, people recharging people, people resurrecting people, people consoling people, people sheltering people - because at the center of religion, there is not God, but people. The battery of religion is people, the engine of religion is people, the path of religion is people, the destination of religion is people.”

“Diary of Dervish Advaitam (Naskaristana 2738) The other day I was reminiscing, which was the first inhumanity that lit the fuse of my life, and I think I figured it out - it was probably Islamophobia, which turned my life into a living rebuttal to every form of dehumanization disguised as heritage - perhaps that was when the dervish took root, even though on paper I wasn't a muslim - papers identify monkeys, not the human spirit; a dervish is no longer a muslim, just like an advaitin is not a hindu, and a christly person is not a christian - religion of a dervish is love, religion of an advaitin is oneness, religion of a christ is kindness. Quietly an advaitin became dervish, and emerged Dervish Advaitam, with languages of the world as master power, and sciences of the mind as master plan.”

“God's original name is Human, but it isn't very profitable, so the apes cook up fancy names, and sprinkle in tales of magic. Organized religion is the planet's largest circus, where apes commodify divinity to sell tickets - more divide means more fear, means more control, divine distant from human is the holy grail of commerce. Human is the first and final name of divinity, but that goes against the entire religious industrial complex - for the purpose of brevity I say religious, but I mean fundamentalist.”

“It is well known in physics that when one compresses the mass of an object its potential energy increases exponentially. Coal is an example of such compression; nuclear fission another. There are several techniques in Qabalah for 'compressing' a text of scripture to 'increase' its 'power.' A book called the Cifri Ali is said to one of the books used by the Bektashis. It is a book revealed to Ali ('Alaihi Assalam) and secretly handed down to his descendants. Learned Şehy's are supposed to have learned from it and therefore to be able to practice divination.”

“The Good Conqueror (Sonnet) Born in the land of multiculturalism, I grew up speaking three languages, mother tongue, national tongue and English. Then in my late teens I acquired my fourth tongue Telugu on a whim, and later along the years, I acquired my fifth, Turkish, which became my dearest, and my sixth, yet to be perfected, Spanish. That's the only conquest I care about, for language is the highway to culture. Not real estate, gadgets or cash, give me languages, give me cultures. English is my work language, Turkish is my love language. Science is my brain language, Integration, my heart language.”

“Sonnet Shahada, 2345 I switch cultures like clothes, I switch sciences like pens. I switch scriptures like tides, I switch languages like seasons. Service of humanity is supreme shahada, to defend the persecuted is cosmic khalsa, to treat neighbor as god is real dharma, quiet kindness is the real karma. Ana al-haqq, ana al-hub - aham bindu, aham brahmanda. I shed dogma like dead skin, el cosmos es mi casa.”

“I was in the darkness, ignorant of my own self and the love said lets fly now! I was accompanied by the enemies of my soul, corrupting my very self and the love said lets fly now! My ego evolved from small ant, dog, beast and a dragon of hate and greed and the love said lets fly now! I was hopeless and worried of my salvation and the love said lets fly now! All the darkness within lightened when love arrived and the love said lets fly now! Ayaz never knew the love shadows over anything and everything, making impossible possible and the love said lets fly now!”

“If modern dervishes are no more than "traditional hippies," still I feel that the world has a secret but absolute need for the presence of such wild free spirits, just as it needs the presence of some wilderness, unplanned, unmanaged, apparently profitless, chaotic as God first made it. (And both of these needs seem to fall under the patronage of the master traveler, Khezr himself).”

“30 Days of Ramadan (Sufi Sonnet) On the 1st day of Ramadan I say to thee, celebration of Ramadan is celebration of rahmat. On the 2nd day of Ramadan I say to thee, the greatest iftar is to lift up another. On the 3rd day of Ramadan I say to thee, kindness makes moments holy, not date and time. On the 4th day I say to thee, till we renounce apathy, refusing 'interest' counts for nothing. On the 5th day of Ramadan I say to thee, helping a human is worth a hundred Hajj. On the 6th day of Ramadan I say to thee, service to humanity is service to Allah/God. On 7th I say, true mercy waits for no month. On 8th I say, mercy exclusive to month is fake mercy. 9. There is nothing uglier than happiness hoarded. 10. Light shared, is amplified, when hoarded, it's lost. 11. Breaking fast while the world starves, is no holy. 12. Dua without deeds is dua (prayer) of the dead. 13. Only kafir is the one who lacks kindness. 14. Real divinity knows no distinction of faith. 15. The opposite of sacredness is prejudice. 16. Heart is the first and final mosque. 17. Heart set on prejudice tantamount to Quran set on fire. 18. Abandon fundamentalism, and adopt tolerance. 19. What's fanatic is dead, what's tolerant is alive. 20. Tolerance is the awakening of divine desire. 21. Condemn none, convert none, for all are equal. 22. All streams spring from the human heart. 23. Reflections though vary, the sun is the same. 24. Tolerate no more bigotry to poison the world. 25. Surpass all fear, and share a date. 26. Date shared is bloodshed spared. 27. Dogma deserted is harmony harvested. 28. Ramadan is the end of fear and hatred. On the eve of Eid, I bear reminder - for one who lives with kindness, everyday is Ramadan. On Eid al-Fitr, I stand as a promise - in celebrating each other we rise human.”

“Interestingly, the word munkasiran is translated as dejected, though literally it means broken. It conveys a sense of being humbled in the majestic presence of God. It refers to the awesome realization that each of us, at every moment, lives and acts before the august presence of the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the one God besides whom there is no power or might in all the universe. When one seriously reflects on God’s perfect watch over His creation, the countless blessings He sends down, and then considers the kind of deeds one brings before Him—what possible feelings can one generate except humility and degrees of shame? With these strong feelings, one implores God to change one’s state, make one’s desires consonant with His pleasure—giving up one’s designs for God’s designs. This is pure courtesy with respect to God, a requisite for spiritual purification.”

“apportionment in the world. Thus, one is opposing how God meted out sustenance in concord with His wisdom. Therefore, one must oppose his own ego's desires and seek treatment for this disease with the healing force of acceptance of the divine decree and prayer on behalf of one's enemies in a way that suppresses the ego [nafs].”

“On the Day of Judgment no one is safe save the one who returns to God with a pure heart. (Quran) Surely in the breasts of humanity is a lump of flesh, if sound then the whole body is sound, and if corrupt then the whole body is corrupt. Is it not the heart? (Prophet Muhammad ) Blessed are the pure at heart, for they shall see God. (Jesus )”

“The believers are described as people whose hearts are alive and full of light, while the scoffers are in darkness: Is one who was dead and then We revived [with faith] and made for him a light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darkness from which he cannot exit? (QURAN, 6:122). According to commentators of the Quran, the one who was dead refers to having a dead heart, which God revived with the light of guidance that one may walk straight and honorably among human beings. Also, the prophet Muhammad said, “The difference between the one who remembers God and one who does not is like the difference between the living and the dead.” In essence, the believer is someone whose heart is alive, while the disbeliever is someone whose heart is spiritually dead.”
